Comments about Archival Methods 07062 35mm Slide Storage System (Tan):

From my father's old 1950s-1990s slides, I had five slip-cover boxes of old Bell & Howell slide cubes, 20 cubes per box. Add to that almost 70 lab-processing boxes (the little yellow boxes we all used to wait for with baited breath), and you understand my challange.

I wanted something that I could use to organize all these slides chronologically, and keep them safe (dry, out of the light, in archival materials). This combo of small boxes, larger trays, and a protective larger box looks like exactly what I need.

Some have complained about the need to "assemble" the small boxes that come laid flat. I did not see that as anything more than a repetitive hand-work process.

Comments about Archival Methods 07062 35mm Slide Storage System (Tan):

I bought this storage system to move my grandfather's 35mm slide collection. He had had them neatly stored in about 50 Sawyers' Rotary Slide trays. My plan was to digitize them in order to preserve them (some were from the '50s) and make them more readily accessible to family members.By transferring the slides to this storage system, I was able to reduce the volume of the collection to a fraction of what it was in the slide trays, making transport and storage much more managable.I found, though, that there was a large range of thicknesses in the paper mounts, so I would recommend that you allow for about 20-22 slides per slide tray rather than the 25 per tray capacity the manufacturer specifies.

Comments about Archival Methods 07062 35mm Slide Storage System (Tan):

I'm using the system to archive family slides after I sort through them. The smaller boxes that go inside the long ones are great for sorting and separating by date or subject, and overall everything is quite sturdy. The little boxes take a minute to pop together, but once you get the hang of it, it goes fairly quickly.

Comments about Archival Methods 07062 35mm Slide Storage System (Tan):

I bought this product so that I could store 35mm slides that were handed down to me by my parents in a compact and space saving manner. The slides will be digitized in the near future, and in the meantime, this is a great place to store them so they will be safe and out of the way (the large carousels from which they came were too cumbersome).

Although the product was a little pricey, it is perfect for the intended use. I had a hard time finding any similar products anywhere else so I guess it's a supply and demand thing.

                      Excellent space saver
Excellent simple organizer - easy to locate slides in a group
Good archival quality - I have had some of these for years
Easy to mark contents of complete box
Fold down flap doesn't seem to be of any use
Not for quick location of individual slides
