The Gefen Inc. VGA-141LR Long-Range VGA Extender (LR) is a transmitter and matching receiver kit that allows a user to separate computer components up to 330' (100 m,) far beyond the reach of standard desktop cables. It uses inexpensive and common CAT5 network cable to connect the sender and receiver over great distances. Sample installations include public kiosks where the computer needs to be in a different and/or secure location.

Comments about Gefen VGA-141LR VGA Video Extender LR, Sender With Receiver:
I have this extender system hooked from a laptop to a projector in our church sanctuary through 150 feet of cat5E cable and it works great! The picture quality is excellent and it almost set itself up. The only con I have about this is the vga cable supplied with it is very heavy duty and does not install very easily.

Comments about Gefen VGA-141LR VGA Video Extender LR, Sender With Receiver:
My venue uses these to drive our teleprompter monitors in our main auditorium. We have used various brands of these and this Gefen unit has been the best so far. The construction is solid, with an all metal casing, and the labeling clearly indicates which one is which. It also comes with a 6' video cable to connect the transmitter to the computer, this is a good thing because the transmitter box has a (non-standard) male VGA connector on it. I do also wish that the transmitter end had a power indicator LED on it. The receiver end does have a "signal present" LED to show when it is communicating with the transmitter.
