The Impact 16 Channel Radio Slave Receiver is designed to trigger strobes wirelessly. This system works in tandem with most AC powered strobe packs or monolights, and draws power via the attached AC cord. There are no batteries in the receiver to worry about during a busy photo shoot.
Sixteen channels offer more than ample avoidance of local radio interference, and total freedom from dragging around a sync cord. Sixteen channels also provide the opportunity to assign different groupings of lights, their own channel to be triggered by switching the channel in the transmitter that mounts on the camera's hot shoe.
This set comes with adapters for mini and monoplug sync connections.

I purchased this product as part of a 3 monolight package (2 VSD400's and 1 EX100A) that also included 3 stands (one a boom stand), 2 umbrellas, a soft box and the radio controlled trigger. My review will reflect not only my satisfaction with this particular product - but with the entire package. Some of you who are reading this review will want to check out the package deals that include this product. I would certainly recommend a package if you are looking for a complete set up.
To begin with - I was impressed with the amount of quality equipment for the cost. The package is a great option for those who need a pro-quality lighting set up at a reasonable price. I suspect that if I was a full time pro I might want something more substantial -- but since I only shoot part time and did not want to spend a fortune on lighting equipment -- this was a great buy.
This particular product is well designed and a great bargain. I was thinking about getting another radio controled trigger (a well known, popular product), but opted to try this product since it was part of the package. I'm glad I did. For me, it does the job at a fraction of the cost. So far, in every one of my set ups, the flash has fired without failure.
So if you are thinking about this product, go for it. I give it four stars - and for me that is pretty much a top rating because I like to keep the five star rating for those relatively few items that are truly the best of the best.

The price is definately right for this set. Everything you need to fire your strobe is included also, unlike some units where multiple parts need to be purchased in order to fire a strobe. However, you get what you pay for, and this set feels cheaply constructed in your hands. It also tends to misfire fairly frequently (1 in 10 fires) for no apparent reason that I could discern.
I do not regret purchasing this unit as it does allow me to work without cables, but I do wish I had sprung for a more expensive one.

Comments about Impact AC 16 Channel Radio Slave Receiver (120/220V AC):
I use these with Impact 100w Monolight Kit. The only problem I Have had was the 1/4 to 1/8 Adapter. On my second use the light would not fire. After playing with the cords for a bit I found that it was the adapter itself was bad. I went to radio shack and bought 4 new ones for 3.50 a peace and have had no problems since. Impact offered to send me replacement at no charge and were very nice. I went with my own because the one I got were better built. just make sure you get MONO (only has one Black ring on male connector) and you will be fine.

I use these to fire my Impact Monolights and my speed lights. They even work from other rooms.
I have not tried to see just how far they will go. I have been using them from about 30 to 40 ft, and they have been absolutely flawless so far. I have had them for a month.

I got it with the "AC RADIO SLAVE TRANSMITTER (16 CHANN)". It worked pretty well. It is nice not to worry about the battery. However, wireless light controls were interfering with the signal and mono lights were strobing randomly. As soon as light controls were off it worked almost 100% of the time. The distance is also pretty good.

Remotes are nice. I have had two of this brand for the past about 4 years. They still work great. 16 Channels allows me to use all the same remote system products in 4 close shooting areas without having to switch triggers or remotes. They are compatable with all 3 brands of lights I use and without purchase of additional adapters. The batteries can be purchased from basically any store and are cheap. I have bought 2 batteries in the past 4 years. The batteries last a long time. The price is really good also if you do comparisions.

Very straight forward application... connect it to my lights... make sure the dip switches on the trigger and the receiver match... connect the trigger to the camera... start shooting! "So simple a caveman can do it"
Problem is... the receiver works when it wants to. I changed the battery in the trigger 2 times, thinking that was the issue. But no... that's not it.
Great price... but its not what its cracked up to be
