I'm using two of these little flashes along with Strobist color gels to do off-camera lighting on the go. These flashes are tiny, small enough to put in my jeans or a jacket pocket. I fire them with a cheap wireless flash transmitter and receiver.

I've had these flashes about a week, and so far they work reliably.

The recharge time is a little long (about 5 seconds), and you don't get too many flashes off a freshly-charged set of NiMH batteries (very rough estimate is 40-100 flashes, sorry). The optical slave sensor is not too sensitive, and it basically needs to have line-of-sight to your camera's flash. (However, I'm using these flashes with a wireless system, so this doesn't matter to me.)

I liked this flash but didn't realize that it can't ignore the pre-flash. Since having this problem I went into the reviews and found one more person who mentioned this but I didn't see it before. So, if you have a cheap main flash (that can't turn off its preflash) that will act as the master, you may not be able to use them together. If you have the nicer canon flashes or whatever, then I'm guessing you can get around this problem.

Besides that (which was a clincher for me since it means this flahs is useless for me), it seems simple and strong. I liked it otherwise and it seemed worth the money.

I bought this flash to add more light to indoor portrait photos. I didn't want to buy another shoe mounted flash and this worked. I bought a diffusers so that I can use it pointed strait at my subject sometimes.

what i like is that i does not even have to face the main light to go off!!!!
            i highly recommend it.
i also use it as accent light.

I intend to use this for backlighting to enhance bridal veils (i.e. in the optical slave mode). I have only done limited test shots to date, but everything seems to work fine. It would be nice if it had manually adjustable brightness, but I can do this by physically placing this further back and/or covering if needed. For the money, it's a pretty decent product. Seems to be pretty sturdy and the adjustable tilt stand is very handy.

The mini slave works really well. It is easy to mount a variety of ways. Takes up little space in the bag. Excellent value for the money. Well worth having a couple of them handy. Of course they have to have a open view of the main flash to function. Down side is it not being adjustible, but for this price you wouldn't expect it to be. And it keeps the design dead simple.

This is an inexpensive slave with the proper output to complement my Smith-Victor KF-2U Thrifty Flash Kit. I'm currently using it on a mini tripod but intend to obtain a short boom & light-stand ASAP to make maximum use of it. I don't experience any hotspotting with a simple white handkerchief thrown over it.

Haven't spent a lot of time messing with it, but I have seen other pro's use this for wedding portraits. There is no output control, so if this might pose a problem, stay away from this unit. I think for the price it is a decent buy!!

Well thought out little slave flash. It has a built in stand, threaded light stand mount and a hot shoe attachment for mounting pretty much any way you might need to. Can be triggered through hot shoe, by 2.5mm jack plug, or optically. Puts out sufficient light to use as side/fill and triggers easily from main flash/strobe. The only drawback I found was lack of reliable triggering by radio slave. Otherwise a great product for the price.

This flash is rock solid. Works all the time and has taken some abuse and kept on going. The con is that I only bought one, I'm ready to order several more.

This tiny strobe is pretty functional. The only complaint is that it is not as sensitive as others seem to make it (at least in my case). I find it frequently not firing, even with two strobes firing at it (used for backlighting). When it does fire, it cycles rather quickly and does the job. Fits nicely on a mini10 tripod which I like.

I use this product to create backlighting on couples in conjunction with my off camera flash. It works every time and gives great results. To boot, you can use it as a manual shoe mount flash in a pinch. Without a doubt, it's been the best [$] investment I've ever made.
