I've used this for over a month shooting hours of B-Roll with Sony's HVR Z7U and the lens is terrific. No vignetting on that particular Zeiss lens and it screws on and off with ease. Images are sharp, yet undistorted. It's the perfect zoomable wide for the Z7U compact flash / mini-HDV. By the way, that camera has worked flawlessly producing non-stop, beautiful images. Sony finally got the ergonomics close to perfect and the CF cards load to FC Pro at approximately triple speed. Plus you have HDV backed up on the cassettes!

I find the lens quite heavy which is a problem if you are doing handheld shots or if you are using a system like glidecam. But the biggest problem for me is that with my camera a Panasonic DVX100, the vignetting is horrendous, rendering any material pretty useless when shot at the widest setting. If you zoom through to get rid of the vignettes it gets to the point where it is no longer a wide angle. Its basically like having nothing at all. I am better off with just the camera.

Not bad, clear, nice parabolic effect, yet unexpected vignetting on the upper left and right corners. (Bluish tint).

Comments about Impact DVP-WA70-72 72mm .7x Wide Angle Converter Lens:
I just got it and havent used it much yet, but it seems to work well on the Sony Z7U. no focus issues -the focus numbers still line up fine, goes on easily. Feels like a good quality lens. Didn't give it 5 stars because there is a very slight vignetting on the corners when zoomed all the way out (very slight -doesn't bother me)

Used on a Sony Z7U. Bought 2 of these lenses. Gives wider angle of view and no vignette. Excellent lens for the money. Only Problem is that picture is out of focus on the edges. Also can give a bit of a halo effect on the subject but only on the edges otherwise its a great lens

I am primarily an event videographer, and this lens goes in front of my Sony FX-1 camera, and easily and quickly provides a wider field of view for the camera. It allows more light into the camera, improving my low light ability in certain circumstances, and it completely zoom through. I keep this on my cameras the entire day of shooting.
The lens does add a bit of weight to the camera, changing the center of gravity and increases fatigue. This is my fourth Impact lens...and for the price and the quality it cannot be beat!
Comments about Impact DVP-WA70-72 72mm .7x Wide Angle Converter Lens:
I use for Sony FX1000. It works fine: no vignetting on widest angle, no distortion. Highly recommended.

No real visible distortion at the extremes. Only issue is there is some vignetting at the widest setting on my camera which is the DVX100B video camera.
