The Cokin R730 52mm 0.5x Wide-Angle Conversion Lens is a quality conversion lens designed to broaden the field of view when attached to a digital camera's or camcorders existing lens. It is designed for use with digital cameras or camcorders with a 52mm filter thread. Alternatively, an optional appropriately-sized adapter ring can be used for other sizes.

This lens widens the angle of view by multiplying the focal length of the camera by 0.5 times, which doubles the angle of view. This improves the composition of many interior and wide scenic shots.

      Comments about Cokin R730 52mm 0.5x Wide-Angle Converter Lens:

I wanted to use this with my Nikon D90 and the 50mm 1.8D lens I've been using for a few years so I could have a 25mm without spending a boat load of money and also bring one less lens (since this Cokin is quite compact).

I used it for the first time at a friend's wedding and just about all the pictures were never really focused/sharp and the edges were consistently blurry.

I guess thats what you get for trying to cut corners

plenty of distortion, but good value

      Comments about Cokin R730 52mm 0.5x Wide-Angle Converter Lens:

This lens definitely has fisheye distortion and barrel distortion at the wider end. The images are pretty sharp. When fixed with a 18-55mm Nikon lens, there is heavy vignette at 18mm. But there is no vignette at 20mm and above. Regarding the fisheye distortion and barrel distortion, they can be easily corrected using Photoshop or PTLens. I had a Tokina 12-24mm which was 500$, compared to [$] I paid for this. I was willing to do post processing using Photoshop, but if you dont need any distortion, maybe spending the extra bucks is the right thing for you
