Lightweight and comfortable as an alternative to the ClearCom's. Time will tell how durable they will last. For now, no problems.

Comments about Eartec SlimLine Single-Ear Headset (Clear-Com/Telex):

Look for the price, you aren't going to find anything better. The picture is not completely accurate. The headsets do not have a windscreen on the microphone. A major issue for heavy breathers. Luckily we had some sitting around the theater that fit. Other than that, comfortable for an 8 to 12 hour day, sounds fine, reasonable durability, cheap enough that if they break, you can just buy a new one.

Comments about Eartec SlimLine Single-Ear Headset (Clear-Com/Telex):

If you're looking for a heavy duty, daily use headset, look elsewhere. I was looking for something lightweight and slightly more sanitary than using whatever headset was provided by the production company. I used this last week for a 5 day show with a clearcom system-- the sound quality to and from was excellent, most of the crew commented that my mic sounded better than the regular headsets. It was still comfortable by the end of each day. I think if I take care of these and make sure they are well padded when I ship them, they may last a year to 18 months. It's worth it to me to not worry about catching whatever the last director had.

These are great back up headsets for our Clear Com system. The price allows us to have a surplus on hand should any of our primary sets go down.

Comments about Eartec SlimLine Single-Ear Headset (Clear-Com/Telex):

We use these for Clear-Com system in a playhouse among stage manager, lights, sound, and front-of-house, and they work fine. Both transmit and receive are very clear. We have found that they are not very good in high-noise environments (like a rock concert) as there is only the one earpiece and it does not have any real noise shielding. For relatively low noise (what I would call normal) environments I would highly recommend them.

Comments about Eartec SlimLine Single-Ear Headset (Clear-Com/Telex):

This is a great little headset, especially for the price, and just purchased our second one. We record all our church services and our director has been using this headset for almost a year now (min. 6 hours/week). Very comfortable and has great sound quality. The only downside is that it is for one ear only. You can't swivel the microphone to switch the headset to the other ear. (Sorry, I don't remember which ear it works for.)

Comments about Eartec SlimLine Single-Ear Headset (Clear-Com/Telex):

I teach a class at CSU, Chico (CA) that uses a three-camera remote studio set up to record a variety of events and performances "live on tape"

I purchased three of these Slim Lines for use in our control area. Our intercom system is a bit of a hodgepodge of Clear-Com beltpacks and tends to run very hot (loud) The Slim Lines' microphones are pretty sensitive and will often introduce a feedback howl into the system. That's probably more my problem than the headsets'.

The reason I only gave it two stars is that one of the headsets has already failed and we've only been using it a few weeks on ten or so productions.

The headsets are light and do feel good on one's head, even after a long time, which is certainly something to be grateful for.
