The Fantasea Cool Flash Nano combines a durable watertight housing together with a remote land flash. The combination provides the perfect economical solution to be used with all digital point and shoot cameras. The strobe unit triggers in sync with the digital camera's internal flash by a small light sensor in the strobe body.

The Nano has three flash modes to suit a wide variety of digital cameras. Whether your camera is capable of manual mode, or has one or two pre-flashes to set exposure, the strobe ensures correct exposure with all such camera types.

The Cool Flash Nano attaches easily to the flex arm and the photographer is ready to shoot great photos underwater and outdoors in extreme environments. The Cool Flash Nano works with all Fantasea housings as well as other digital camera housings.

Goes well with G16. althought samll in size and power, its suit the full function of a G16 perfectly. Good match with the G16 housing from fantasea.

Cheap and good. can get a few more as spare. even if flood oneday will not feel the pain.

Comments about Fantasea Line Cool Flash Nano:

This flash is very good for small light-duty strobe. I use it with Canon S95 in RecSea housing. I am able to disable pre-flash for manual exposure mode and then change to one pre-flash cancellation for use in auto exposure modes. Others have noted that the battery life is very poor. I agree with that; I was using so-called 1250 mAh AAA batteries and never got more than fifty flashes out of a set of batteries. However, I ordered from B&H the new Panasonic Eneloop Pro AAA rechargeable NiMH rated at 950 mAh. What a HUGE difference! The flash recycles instantly for 180 flashes before taking a second or two to recycle. I ran it up to 200 flashes, no problem. It totally ran out of gas at 220 flashes. Totally eliminated battery problem.

Comments about Fantasea Line Cool Flash Nano:

Currently I use this flash with a Sony P-8 primarily for close-up photography. This setup is just what I needed to get great macro shots without annoying backscatter. Love the user selectable pre-flash cancelation feature, as my cameras all have different pre-flash numbers. The small size makes the flash easy to mount and swim around with, yet provides great lighting for those dramatic macro shots we all want!

Comments about Fantasea Line Cool Flash Nano:

I was in the market for an external underwater strobe but didn't want to commit to a lot of money without seeing the results in action with my particular camera, and I wasn't sure if my camera would work with one to begin with. Even though this unit is cheap compared to most underwater strobes, the photo results have been really good and in most cases, better than the built in flash. I clearly need a 2nd strobe to have full coverage, but for the time being, this is a great buy and fulfills my current needs perfectly.

Comments about Fantasea Line Cool Flash Nano:

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that it consumes AAA batteries like there is no tomorrow. If you take a lot of flash photos on a 45 min dive change the batteries between each dive or the flash will peter out in the middle of your second dive :-(.

Another tip, for the slave sync to work make sure the button inside the case back properly engages and pushes down on the "off-auto" switch or it will not be in slave mode. The instructions aren't clear about this.
