We use this backpack for a Cannon Digital Rebel. It fits very nicely with the standard 18-55 lens, one extra 70-300 lens and an external flash. It has enough space for one more short lens or a battery charger. Not much more camera gear will fit so if you've got more, you need to go with a larger bag. It's really shorter than I expected, but it holds our camera snugly. It fit better on my wife's back, but not uncomfortable for me.

The nice thing about this bag is the extra pockets on the inside of the bag and the pockets in the front zippered section. You could tell these were thought out by a photographer. All of our extras like batteries and memory cards have a spot. They have a tab you can pull over your full cards so you can tell which ones are available at a glance. At first, I thought that was just a silly option, but we use it and it is helpful.

The zippers are covered with a flap, which makes it harder to unzip. We didn't like this until some sand got kicked on the bag at the beach. After blowing it off, we couldn't find any sand in the bag. Very nice. I'll deal with the zipper for that kind of protection.

Great durability through trips to the beach and elsewhere with three kids and luggage.

Will consider Tamrac bags again if we get too much gear for this one.

I use this product with a Canon 40d w/efs-17-85mm and ef-s 55 - 250mm lenses, plus a small flash. The bag actually holds the entire kit - but it must be arranged carefully. Last year I rented a 70-200 f2.8L lens for our Yellowstone trip and it was a tight squeeze to get the complete kit in - even leaving my normal zoom home. So, if you like to pack minimally, this might work for you. If you like a little flexibility in how you pack, maybe not.

Of course, the bag is made very well as you might expect from Tamrac. I think it is just best suited for smaller SLR's and/or smaller kits.

I didn't particularly like the way the bag opens, and the outside pocket is very tight. Wearing the backpack wasn't as comfortable as I would like - but that is likely different for different people.

I normally like Tamrac products and will buy another, this just wasn't my favorite. I recommend handling one in person before buying.

This is a great size bag for a day hike. Plenty of room for Canon T3-i plus lens, (2) and accessories. Enough room for a light jacket and water bottle. Good size, not hugh on your back.

After picking up two more lenses, it was time to pick up a new photo bag. I spoke with a friend at work and he said that he loves his Tamrac 5371. I looked at the reviews and was sold! It holds my canon xs, plus two other lenses, and also an extra battery plus charger and some cables. The bag is light and does not take up a bunch of room. The only con is that the zippers are a bit slow. Oh B&H has the blue and red version on sale for 20.00 less...cha ching!

Thank goodness this bag is small and lightweight, because once you fill it up it's quite heavy (I'm petite). My Canon EOS Rebel T3i fits well, along with an external flash and additional telephoto lens. I like that there are separate compartments for your cell phone, keys and other small items. Don't expect to carry too many lenses, because there is no room and everything fits snug. However, because of the snug fit things do not move around. For what I was looking for while touring on my mountain bike, it's a perfect size.

Comments about 5371 Travel Pack 71 Backpack (Black):

I recently purchased a Nikon d5100 kit and a Nikon 55-200mm lens and am starting to get into digital photography. I wanted a backpack that I could carry and use to protect my new equipment. This bag offers a bit of flexibility with the velcro compartments and different pockets. It is on the smaller side which is fine for me until I start adding on more accessories.

The other reviews are right though, this bag is a bit smaller than I expected. I knew that going into the purchase though so it was not a big deal. I will say though that my camera body/lens and second lens do fill up almost all of the main compartment. But it is a nice design and works well for me.

Comments about 5371 Travel Pack 71 Backpack (Blue):

This is the second one of these I've owned. My first one was a gift and was stolen after about 18 months of use. It looked as good the day it was stolen as the day I bought it. I love the fact that you can configure the velcro dividers. The velcro is strong and never moves and the padding is nice and thick. The pockets are great for the small stuff. I can fit much more than I need in this single bag. The only complaint I have is that the outside zipper is a little harder to use than average because it is so well protected from the rain by its intentionally generous flap. The only other downside is that you need to lay it flat when taking the camera out or your other stuff can fall out. When replacing my stolen bag, I looked at a lot of other bags to see if I could find something I liked better, but nothing compared to the nice small size, good padding and configurable compartments. They have obviously put a lot of thought in to the bag.

This backpack is exactly the right size for my needs. It holds my camera with my zoom lens as well as my extra lens. It also holds my older and smaller cameras for the kids use. The straps are very comfortable and it fits nicely - doesn't feel too bulky or weigh me down. I am quite pleased with this pack. It does take a couple extra minutes to get the camera out of the bag so that's something to prepare for so that you don't miss that quick shot.

I wanted a small backpack to wear on my back since I usually always have a purse or diaper bag on my shoulder (or falling off my shoulder). I have a 18-135mm lens on my camera so I currently do not have an extra lens. I have room in the pack for an extra lens but not multiple lenses. It is comfortable to wear walking, hiking, biking, ect. Not easy to use if you are wanting to reach in the bag often or change lenses a lot. I prefer the camera around my neck and the bag out of my way.

I bought another back pack, but it was just too big for the amount of gear I have, and things were loose in it. I found this one, and it's perfect for what I have: a Canon Rebel, one extra lens (zoom), a flash, two hoods, and a few odds and ends. I'm just a hobby photographer, so this is perfect me, it's well made, and once you get used to how it opens and closes, it's not a problem. It's lightweight, easy to carry, and quite cute!

Comments about 5371 Travel Pack 71 Backpack (Black):

After spending all your money on great camera gear, you need to be able to carry it around efficiently. However, you also do not want to attract robbers to you by seeing that you have just spent lots of money on your new super Nikon or Canon.
The Tamac 5371 looks like a general backpack and not a camera bag. Carrying it around in your hand or on your back, it does not draw attention to itself.
Inside the bag, the layout and flexible partitions allow you to fit in your DLSR and extra lenses and extra gear.
Usually when one gets over the adrenalin shock of buying your camera, you are a soft touch when the sales person asks if you want a bag and they throw in something. Your eyes are so dazzled by the DLSR that any brain power to consider the suitability of the bag is left behind. I bought the Tamac 5371 in a separate visit to B&H and I was able to consider the choice.
You may say to me, "Why not just use an ordinary small backpack". However, backpacks normally are zipped across the top. All the small bits settle to the bottom and there is no support for the contents. With the Tamac 5371, the zips open so that all the bits are easily accessible and the moveable partitions can be set to hold all the bits.
I am happy with the Tamac 5371 as it looks like an "ordinaty" backpack", fits in lots of gear safely and the gear is easy to access.
                          Go for it!

I use this bag for my Canon digital SLR. It is on the small side- I can fit the camera and one large lense with maybe one small compartment left over. This bag is perfect for the trek in the woods where you dont want to carry the big bag! I have an older Tamrac bag that has held up over the years. I had to make a decision to remove my old film camera from the other bag or purchase another bag. The quality from the old bag to the newer bag has remained constant!!! It will last a long time!

Wanted a small backpack with compartments that actually hold things in place since we will be on the ski slopes with this bag. Very nicely done.

Fits everything I need without it moving around. I am a college student who is not majoring in photography so I'm a little on the broke side and can't afford many accessories and lenses. This bag is perfect for me. I have my Nikon D5000 with 18-55mm VR lens, a cheap off camera flash, some spare rechargable batteries, a nice strap and a few more things in it fitting comfortably.

everything I need fits in...with some extra room for non-photo essentials like keys/wallet. Great for photo walks, and strolling around - comfortable and well padded.

I use this for photo walking. That is, for short trips, a couple of hours of taking pictures for fun. It carries an SLR an extra lens and a few gadgets. It small and light. I didn't love spending [$] on this, but I couldn't find anything well built for less.
