Product Highlights
  • Produces Black and White Slides
  • Fine Grain
  • Very Sharp
  • Polyester Base

Efke 127 R100 Black and White Negative or Reversal Film is a fine grain, extremely sharp negative film that can also be processed as a reversal film characterized by a very high silver content.

This film is designed to be reversed processed as a B&W slide film - much like Agfa Scala. The resulting chromes display an excellent gray scale tonality. Efke films are made using ADOX formulas (for high resolution) that were first introduced back in the 1950s.

Efke products are true to their rated speed. They allow both amateurs and professionals to produce high-quality prints. As a result of the fine resolution of this film, large, grain free, enlargements can be made from the negatives.

Note! This film can be processed as a reversal by dr5 Chrome, 701 West 6th Avenue, Denver, Colorado, 80204 303 534-2375

This film requires special processing if processed as a reversal film
Efke roll films are coated on a polyester base (100 microns plus coating)

The image quality is rather nice with very good tone scale. I soup it in Rodinal 1:100 and find that the grain is very good and to my liking. Cons: Very curly, can be hard to load on reels sometimes and the emulsion is very sensitive to scratching. This would not be my first choice of B&W film (Delta 100 or Fuji Acros would), but if you shoot 127 film cameras I guess you don't have much choice.

Comments about Efke 127 R100 Black and White Negative or Reversal Film:

I will be using this film in my Yashica - 44 camera... your website is the only place I can find the 127 b&w film for the vintage camera... I am afraid that I just tried to re-order the film and you are saying that it is "discontinued"... This is not good... I hope I can continue to buy film from your company.

I used this film with my newly acquired Kodak vest pocket camera. It is very easy to load, no mess. However, finding someone to develop the film in Vancouver is a bit of a headache. The result is beautiful, highly recommended!

Comments about Efke 127 R100 Black and White Negative or Reversal Film:

This film is impossible to find elsewhere and is a perfect fit for the baby Brownie I like to use to shoot interesting 1940's style vintage film prints for important occasions. I did one role for a wedding I recently shot - and forgot to order until the week of the wedding. Shipping was expensive because of my "emergency" - but the estimated date was spot-on and the film made it in time for the event! Thanks B&H for making it possible to use my vintage camera to make this wedding extra special for the happy couple.

Comments about Efke 127 R100 Black and White Negative or Reversal Film:

This film fits perfectly in my vintage Kodak Brownie Holiday Edition. It was a bit hard to load into the camera on the first try, but I found that adding a bit of tape to the end fixes the problem. I still give this product 5 stars because I am sure that this problem is mostly due to my inexperience with 127 film.

All in all, great product, amazing price. I am going to be buying all my 127 film from here in the future.

I was totally surprised to discover that someone is still making 127 film for my 50 year old Brownie Bullet. I was even more surprised to discover that the camera still works and that the Efke film is great. It reminds me of the old Kodak Plus X with great tonal range and tight grain. I bought some for my 35mm too and can't wait to try it.

There aren't a lot of options for B&W 127 film these days. Efke's film certainly worked but, like other reviews I've seen, had problems with the emulsion flaking off.

Definitely not professional grade stuff but it would be perfect for students/experiments.

I'm a photographer that uses vintage cameras to shoot portraits for a fun project on the side. When it comes to film, I'm usually at a loss to find decent quality and price. This totally supports my hobby, and works great for my uses.

Good film, nice range, pictures are above average. Can't get 127 film anywhere else, so if you want to shoot on some of the old 127 cameras then you might as well buy this. Or you could cut your own film from 120 size stock rolls and then respool it by hand. But, seriously, who wants to do that when these rolls are 7 bucks?

This was the first time I used efke film, and I tested it out on a Kodak Brownie "Super 27" camera from the 1960's. I wasn't expecting much, but the tonal quality and detail on this film were very strong and impressive. I didn't use any filters the first time around; the next time I get this film I will try it with a yellow filter and see how well it performs!

I recently got this film for my Yashica-44 camera. There are not many places that you can find 127 film. So far I have enjoyed this film but I have noticed that if you follow the set amount of exposures it directs you to take it will only be 7 shots. There is a lot of extra space on the negatives that could have been exposed. I would suggest playing with the amount that you can fit on a role. The only other downfall is that it can be hard to put it in the camera, but then again that might just be my camera. Overall I will continue to buy this film and many other films from B&H.
