i bought this cooler for my notebook ,
it prvent the heat from warming my legs and keeping me free from connecting it to the electricity by getting the power for it from the usb , it also keeping the same usb avilable to other usb device (it avilable on the backside of the usb connector which used for the notebook cooler) .the aluminum structure keep it slim , and it works quitely.
i recommend it for any notebook holder!!!

Either the new product I purchased is defective or they are no longer adequate for the job. I kept the new one and passed my old one on to my son, but my laptop kept getting very warm. I ended up purchasing a Zalman NC2000, which is doing a great job.

Sitting it on this cooler has it cooler than it ever was.

I use this for a 17" Dell with 8gb ram and 1tb hard drive. The computer gets HOT. I have had problems with the computer over heating on other cooler stands. This cooler does a GREAT job of keeping it cool. The only reason I don't give it 5 Stars is the LED light. It is way too bright. I will be adding electrical tape to it as the light has the planes that fly over my house confused and trying to land. Petty, yes, but it does keep it from receiving 5 stars.

It does a good job in cooling your laptop if you don't mind having a big hunk of metal on your desk or in your lap. To make good use of it you have to have it on the 'high' setting but what you get is a mini jet engine coming from under your laptop.

Much improved over previous versions, this keeps your laptop cool even under heavy use and abuse and recharging. Blue status LED is rather bright, but I can live with it. Rubber feet on the top can be pulled off easily if you're not careful about how you store this in your bag.

I'm buying this fan for the third time, not because they break, but because I now own 3 laptops. My original is still running like new after about 5 years. The fan makes all the difference in the world, it keeps the built in fan in the laptop from ever having to run. The computer runs soooo cool, I'm sure it is extending the life of the processor. If you sit on your couch with a laptop on your legs, and have felt the "burn", then you need this product. Buy this fan!

I got this for my 2011 MBP 15". Unlike some other reviews, this unit does work when the computer is on battery power and plugged in. The low setting is very quite and high is tolerable. My laptop runs pretty hot so I needed something to help keep it cool. The price was great!!
