The Impact VSD160 is a good unit for occasional use by a hobbyist, or beginning professional. It is a good choice for building a system - its built-in optical slave fires the flash without wires, from the light of any other flash system. Its flashtube is good for tens of thousands of pops, and is replaceable.
This two monolight kit includes air cushioned light stands that rise to a maximum of 10 feet, 43" white umbrellas, and sync cord (Mini plug to PC).

Comments about Impact Two Monolight Softbox Kit (120VAC):
I bought this kit as a hobbyist who wanted to start working with studio lighting and I've been impressed so far with my findings. For portraits and product photography, the 160 wattseconds are more than enough and I especially enjoy the nice rectangular softboxes and the Bowens mount. Flash recycle was good, around 2-3 seconds for most power levels. There are, however, a few small detractors. The PC sync cords are rubbish, you'll be better off getting another two. Also, the stands are a bit iffy. Good when it comes to holding the lights, but I would watch out/sandbag them when raising things up high. There's the beeping noise which, after a while doesn't become much of a problem at all and, a weak modeling light which I've remedied by cranking the thing all the way up and setting my flash power independently. All in all, for the price you're going to pay for these the softboxes are great and the lights have performed flawlessly (sans some PC cord shenanigans.) Great buy if you're a dedicated hobbyist or enthusiast and you can get over the niggling little details.

Comments about Impact Two Monolight Softbox Kit (120VAC):
I have had this set for around 2 months now. I have had no problems at all. The only complaint and the only reason for four stars is the difficulty in putting together the softboxes. It is extremely tight to get put together. Other than that the stands seem fine and the lights are easy to use once you understand the settings.
Comments about Impact Two Monolight Softbox Kit (120VAC):
I urge everyone DO NOT BUY. The quality is extremely cheap and poorly build. I purchased 3 and have had consistent problems will each one. They can’t support the weight of a medium softbox, numbers in the back will blink on and off, screws are striped and falling off, they make loud beeping noises every time you change a setting. Why are you still considering buying one?????

Comments about Impact Two Monolight Softbox Kit (120VAC):
Light & reliable.
Is not for the ultimate pro shooting, but it is very decent for portraits and small events. It's very portable and easy to set up.
Build is decent, stands are up to the task and for the price I could not ask for more.
Works every time.
