Comments about Bodelin Technologies ProScope HR with 50x Lens:

This product is great for our needs for analysis of surface defects. The resolution is great for us and if we need a closer magnification we will purchase another lens. It is portable with the use of my laptop and very easy to install hardware and operate hardware. The pictures are great and we were able to use it on rounds surfaces and roll it and produce a series of pics on these round surfaces. It is very light which aids in it's use and functionality.

Comments about Bodelin Technologies ProScope HR with 50x Lens:

This device might be a tad larger than one might expect, but no complaints here. Bodelin presents the ProScope HR with all the information anyone might need regarding computer specs and device requirements. That said, they make the ProScope HR as backwards compatible as they possibly could, so it even works on an older USB-1 equipped G4 iMac that does not have the ports or video capability that the HR really needs to operate at its full potential. FireWire might've been a nice option, but USB-2 is nearly as fast.

Resist the urge to purchase a stronger lens than the one it ships with; at least until you've had a chance to try its "normal" lens which should be plenty strong. We're shooting components and traces on logic boards, and if the lens were any stronger we'd have a tough time identifying what we're looking at.

Plenty of control over color balance, contrast and brightness in a nicely designed (and simple) interface. 1/4x20 tripod mounts on two sides is a nice touch, and a tripod or mount of some sort is highly recommended.
