Add the soft, diffused glow of frosted glass to your images with the Heavy Weight Translum Backdrop from Savage. This wrinkle-free Styrene backdrop allows you to diffuse light over a large area for a smooth, impressionistic lighting effect, while also cutting down on unwanted reflections to achieve a nearly shadowless look. Measuring 54" x 18', this versatile surface can be used as a light table, prop setup, or background. Objects on the other side of the backdrop appear as softly diffused shapes. Easily cut with scissors, Translum backdrops are also ideal for making silhouettes. After a shoot, this durable material can be cleaned with a mild soap to restore its original whiteness.

I use the Translum in studio. I appreciate product versatility for portrait and products.

If you need a perfect white put the light behind Translum and you got it! You can even position a subject and lights behind it to achieve a gauzy silhouette.

Washable, durable, a must have for any studio.

I use this product in the studio to shoot glassware and crystal. It transmits tungsten light and color gels thru very nicely and soft. The heavier weight keeps it in place, as long as you clamp the roll at the top.

Heavy Duty translucent plastic sheet. Use it as a backdrop, build a light box or diffusion panel. Probably a hundred other uses. Well worth the money. As always B & H always comes through with fast delivery.

I've just had a chance to use it a couple of times, but I've found it surprisingly durable.
There's a 2 stop light loss, so I had to get used to using more power when I was 'shooting' light through it - but I love the look that soft light gives my subject when light that way.
Definitely plan on seeing what all can be done with the stuff!

I was unsure what to expect from the Translum Diffusion B'ground . When I ordered this item I was hoping to use it over a large window that allows light to flood the entire room. In the past the light has been too harsh and I've used wax paper to diffuse the strong light. Wax paper by the crate I should say ! Taping of the paper was a long, tedious process & it often tore . This diffusion B'ground is perfect and diffused the light from the extra large window beautifully. It is also extremely sturdy and will last , if treated properly , a long time. The pics turned out great and it didn't take but a few mins to add the diffusion roll to a b'drop stand and pull it down , secure bottom with sandbags and clips on top. This item is totally worth the price and then some !! It is really the perfect item and has so many other uses. I am super pleased with my purchase .

I use Transom for both bouncing flash and as an affective diffuser for my mono's. The product is super durable and easy as pie to keep clean. If I could ask for anything additional, it would be that the product came in various widths and even colors would make it totally indispensable. As is, I would still highly recommend this product for serious shooters or even the casual photographer.

Great accessory to have for any product photographer or for a portrait photographer who needs a softer light this pairs well with a softbox for added diffusion. It is a plastic material so it will last a good while without having to replace it often.

I bought 2 rolls and with one of them I have been making diffusion panels. Its a lot cheaper to make the panels then buy new. I also use them for backgrounds.

This by far one of the best diffusion you can use. It's often hard to find in my part of the country so I'm lucky to get it from B & H fast with no problem.

                            For product work it super.

This stuff is awesome! It's some sort of plastic material. It's very durable, but it can crease if your not careful in handling the big roll. It cuts easily with scissors. I use it to make custom diffusors taped to flag frames. Or use the entire roll like a backdrop paper, and shoot through it, then roll it up when done... huge soft box.
