Comments about Century Precision Optics 2x Telephoto Converter Lens for Panasonic HVX200:

I've waited about 2 years to save up to get this Converter. Got the HVX200 and I shoot lots of Surfing so you can imagine the frustration of trying to get great clips of guys surfing that looked like ants.. Im so close now.. and the depth that this lens gives the picture is so amazing.. i look at some test shot of filming birds and empty waves and it looks so so good. well worth the money.... I wish i would have got it soon.. If you shoot far away stuff gotta have it..

Comments about Century Precision Optics 2x Telephoto Converter Lens for Panasonic HVX200:

Had been waiting for the 2x as the 1.6x wasn't enough of a telephoto. Picture quality is excellent and it gets the job done although it can't match Canons Lenses, however, the image quality of this lens w/ the HVX beautiful. To avoid Chromatic Aberration (aka ghosting) do not use the lens fully zoomed in. Push all the way in, set your manual focus, then pull out about 5 percent to achieve optimum results. Only other thing is make sure you have a solid head on your tripod as this lens ways a ton.

Comments about Century Precision Optics 2x Telephoto Converter Lens for Panasonic HVX200:

I use this lens to shoot action surfing and wildlife. I like the added distance i can shoot with the HVX200. It's heavy but i've not needed the extra bracket. Comes with a nice bag and fits in with my Kata bag nicely. The supplied lens hood is a nice addition also. One thing to beware of is zooming in to 99, you will need to pull out a hair to avoid ghosting on highlight areas- there is some image distortion along the areas of hightlights. But i love the lens so far- just remember to pull out a little when you want to get an extreme close up.

Comments about Century Precision Optics 2x Telephoto Converter Lens for Panasonic HVX200:

This lens doesn't lose any light like it says. I tested it in the field chasing planes in the sky. My biggest concern was that it would have made the stabilization fail in the HVX-200 or cause jittery shake. To my surprise and delight I don't notice much more than normal shake and I may be delusional, but It seems like the stabilization works better with the lens attached.

I would recommend this lens if your looking to get closer to a subject or need that beautiful narrow depth of field look.

        Only semi-cons:
obviously a 2.0x adapter is not going to be able to zoom through and this lens is no different, however you can zoom out some with no loss before seeing the black lens walls.

The Lens really needs rail support if your going to be using this lens attached, it comes with the support but no rails. The camera will support the lens without, but it's a comfort factor you may want.

Buy a UV filter for it, that glass is expensive.

Overall: I would recommend this lens.
