The CP rest is great for using with my CP33. It fits nicely in my Gator case as well. It is small and compact, but very good for holding both books and single sheets of paper. It is also long and light. The one stupid thing though is that it doesn't automatically come with the keyboard. I don't care that it's a money grab... I care that it's almost impossible to track down. So I'm happy with the product, not happy with Yamaha.

The rest is what I need. It fits easily and it holds my music books and sheet music. My only gripe about this would be that it is made of plastic, so if you're not careful, it is breakable. I do wish Yamaha made a metal or carbon fiber version of this, but that's ok. It's the only choice and for the most part I'm happy.

Better than nothing, I suppose.
Does not match the quality or durability of the rugged and well made CP300. Pic is DECEIVING>

Comments about Yamaha CP-REST - Detachable Music Rest for CP33 and CP300:
This is the official music rest for this instrument, the price is favorable and shipping was fast. It's also nice that it's so wide.
However, the quality of the rest is beneath the instruments for which the rest is designed. It's made of flimsy plastic with a metal peg attachment to plug into the holes in the back of the instrument. The rest will be challenged by heavy books and you cannot use it as a backstop for writing.
It holds the sheet music about six inches further away than the music rests of acoustical pianos. I bought the rest without buyers remorse but I'm holding it in reserve. I'm actually using a bookrest that I've set on top of my CP300 instead of the CPREST.
If you're of an age when you don't yet need reading glasses, the CPREST should serve you well enough.

Comments about Yamaha CP-REST - Detachable Music Rest for CP33 and CP300:
As other reviewers have noted, it's a single piece of plastic with metal clamps and pins to slide into the CP. However that makes it strong enough to hold sheet music or music books with flat bindings, with thickness under an inch. It takes the pressure of writing music, though I don't think I'd trust it to do much pencil erasing.
But fits perfectly, looks great (smoked plastic look), and it does a fine job finishing my CP-50.

Comments about Yamaha CP-REST - Detachable Music Rest for CP33 and CP300:
This product says it is compatible with the CP33 and CP300. Unfortunately for people who own Yamaha's new CP-50/CP-5/CP-1, there is no music rest made specifically for these pianos.
Luckily, the CP-REST is compatible. The pegs on the CP-REST that fit into the backs of the CP-33 and CP-300 are the exact same size as on the new CP models.
This is obviously intentional on Yamaha's part, but as a consumer it can be daunting to find a music rest when you don't know you're actually looking for an older model that doesn't explicitly state its compatibility with your product.
Bottom Line, the music rest works exactly as described, it's sturdy, easily detachable and supports Yamaha's entire CP line of pianos (and not just the CP-33 and CP-300)
If you own a CP-1, CP-5, or CP-50, you're looking at the perfect music rest for your piano.

The Rest is perfect for keeping loose leaf music while playing. It fits nicely in the pre formed holes on the back of the Cp33. It seems fragile so no heavy books should be placed. Great Product overall!

Naturally it fit because it was designed for the keyboard I use; I was impressed not only that B&H had it in stock (when other sources told me it would take 4 weeks),[...]

I ordered this music desk for my CP-300. It's made of smoked plastic (dark but transparent) with metal pins that fit into holes in the back of the instrument. It's nicely made and quite wide, holding three pages across. I would imagine that, being made of plastic, it's susceptible to breakage. I have it in a home environment so that's not so much of a concern, but on the road, you'd want to be careful. For the price, you can't beat it.

Comments about Yamaha CP-REST - Detachable Music Rest for CP33 and CP300:
I bought the product to support sheet music while playing my Yamaha CP 300 Stage Piano. The item is custom built to fit perfectly in the pre drilled holes in the back of the CP 300. Thus, it fits like a glove and the music sits out of the way but visible to the player. Since it mounts on the extreme rear of the unit, it holds the music a bit further away than my traditional piano music rest and forces the entire unit to be slightly further out from the wall. The unit is well made and custom fitted to the CP 300.

This is an okay, sturdy plastic music stand. It sits about 5-6 inches further away than a music stand on a regular piano, which is a problem for my eyes. Rather than get a new prescription for my glasses, I decided to replace this with a wall-mounted music stand.

Nice little sheet-music rest for your Yamaha CP-33. I don't understand why Yamaha doesn't include it with the keyboard and why they are so hard to find/discontinued. It can hold up to 3 letter size pages in a row or a book. I'd say it's stable, it can hold a thick songbook like the Real Book, for home use it's great, but must be handled with care if you play gigs, it seems somewhat fragile.

Comments about Yamaha CP-REST - Detachable Music Rest for CP33 and CP300:
Metal "plugs" for attaching to CP 33 comes apart from rest and makes this rest very unstable. Will not hold a book such as "Real Book" in a concert setting. Very disappointed in this rest.
