The Custom Bracket QRS-E2 Camera Rotation Bracket is the Extended Version of the basic 35mm rotation bracket. It allows an additional 2" of clearance during rotation, for attaching TTL modules or radio slaves, even in vertical position. Unlike conventional brackets, the QRS-E2 is designed for you to hold the camera rather than the bracket, for a more natural way of shooting. The unique rotation system-which rotates around the center of the lens-allows for locking not just at the vertical or horizontal axis, but anywhere in between as well.

This model has been improved by using roller bearings for the camera rotation mechanism. This means it is now virtually maintenance free. The bracket now also includes a swivel leg for better balance.

Note: Requires the optional #CMP Universal Camera Mounting Plate. Also requires an optional flash mounting plate (except Metz 45/50/60/70/76 series flashes).

Pro wedding and event photography. Great design and smooth action. But the bearings wear out quickly and the bracket becomes very loose. Also the screw mounts do not hold well and also become loose. But, despite these down falls. It is still probably the best on the market. Just be expected to replace the main unit every year or two at the most. My first one only lasted about one year or 50-60 weddings before becoming very loose. When I called to replace the rotating unit, they never really answered the phone or emails and then gave me the run around when I really just wanted to purchase the part. I was not even trying to get it replaced under warrently, which gave me the impressions this is a very small business, perhaps being run by only a few people.

Comments about Custom Brackets QRS-E2 Camera Rotation Bracket - Extended Version:

I am using the Profoto Air Remote TTL-C for B1 Air on a Canon 5D Mark III. This bracket accommodates this large transmitter. I had been using the Custom Brackets Digital PRO-E Camera Rotation Bracket but could not fit this transmitter on the camera. This bracket weighs 1.6 lbs, much more than the 17 oz. Pro E. This bracket was the only solution for this combination of gear. You will need a very good tripod to hold all of the weight once assembled.

Comments about Custom Brackets QRS-E2 Camera Rotation Bracket - Extended Version:

First of all I shoot with the Canon 1DS Mark II + 1D Mark II N and the 5D Mark II. My primary flash is the massive Metz 76 MZ-5. That adds up to large, heavy items. The QRS-E2 has worked flawlessly for the past three plus years. Aside from providing camera rotation while keeping your flash where the flash needs to be, the bearings on my unit are still performing fine.I did have an issue with one of the screws that holds the handle to the frame of the QRS-E2. That was solved with a drop, and I mean just a tiny bit of Loctite 242 on the threads before I retightened the screw. This is a well designed bracket that I find an integral part of my collection.

Great for keeping the flash over the lens, very solid and well built and very easy to use. Did need to buy the flash attachment that is not included in the product. Also, needed to buy the Manfrotto tripod attachment to use with my tripod.

Comments about Custom Brackets QRS-E2 Camera Rotation Bracket - Extended Version:

Used to think big flash brackets like this one were for old-timey wedding and event photographers. I shoot fashion and portraits for magazines and like the look of on-camera direct flash. Well after not finding what I wanted and trying out several brackets (even the much used Custom Brackets CB-Mini RC) I found exactly what I was looking for with this bracket. The flash can be positioned as close or as far to the lens as you need. The bracket can mount directly to a tripod (and even has an Arca Swiss type plate available) and the camera rotation keeps the lens' center spot in the exact same spot vertical or horizontal. The bracket is built very well and feels solid. No wobbling, no areas that I feel worried about bending/breaking, and the flash feels secure in any position I put it.

The only downside is that the bracket is a bit bulky and it doesn't really break down to a compact size when needing to store away. I use a rolling case (that's pretty full already) for my gear and haven't really figured out a good way to pack the bracket yet. But I'm very happy with the results and would buy this again if I had to do it over again.

Comments about Custom Brackets QRS-E2 Camera Rotation Bracket - Extended Version:

I needed a rugged flip bracket and this product is exactly that. However, it has a lot of extraneous parts that out of the box make it bulky, so I spent about an hour stripping off stuff I don't need. This especially included the handle, which seems odd if the bracket is designed so you hold the camera. It was also annoying that I had to order the camera plate and flash connection separately -- these are so basic I don't see why they're not included.

Comments about Custom Brackets QRS-E2 Camera Rotation Bracket - Extended Version:

Takes some getting used to it, but it works great and built like a tank. Just a little pricy when you add the off camera cord, flash plate and camera mounting plate, but the results will be there far longer than the memory of the price.

The rotation feature is by far the best available. I could not believe how easy, fast and solid the opperation feels. So well so I just bought a quick release plate so I can use my Manfrotto tripod and monopod - love it.

It does add some weight and for me would be a little much for 3 to 6 hour shoot. Thus, I opted for the quick release plate for my monopod. Much better and easier to use.

If you are serious about great flash photography on-location, I recommend this highly. Even makes you look more proffessional. Now it is up to you to capture the shot!

Comments about Custom Brackets QRS-E2 Camera Rotation Bracket - Extended Version:

The camera rotation bracket feature is a clever and well executed design solution to a problem every photographer has encountered. Every time you want to switch from protrait to landscape or vice versa, especially on a tripod mount, it takes time and effort. The time factor can be a big one especially when given a fluid, fast moving shoot where any down time can cause you to lose the shot. I highly recommend the camera rotation bracket from Custom Brackets. Its a thoughtful solution, and a well executed product.

The set up for this is a bit confusing at first. Once I found the key it went smoothly and this bracket does everything I expected it to do. You get a nice steady platform that allows you to rotate the camera with ease. Having the flash mounted at the top of the rig keeps your light constant in both landscape and portrait mode.
