The Miller 1709 Arrow 40 tripod system consists of the Arrow 40 fluid head, 694 pan arm, 860 camera plate, 1505 3-stage carbon fiber tripod, 1520 Solo DV strap, and the Arrow 872 soft case.
The Arrow 40 fluid head is designed for use with fully configured ENG camcorder packages weighing up to 35.2 lbs (16.0 kg). Indexed variable fluid drag and counterbalance ensure accurate, speedy setups, and a sliding camera plate with 70 mm of travel accommodates irregular camera/lens combinations. Once mounted and leveled on its 100 mm half-ball, the illuminated operational controls are accessible from the rear for easy operator reference and adjustment.
Continuing the theme of speed without compromise, the Solo three-stage tripod features a die-cast magnesium spider with 100mm receiver, and ultra-rigid unstayed carbon fiber composite legs with three pre-set angles. An anti-rotation system makes extending and collapsing all three sections at once possible, and temperature-independent axial sleeve locks ensure reliable fixing.
Designed and built for actual daily use, the roomy Arrow 872 soft case answers operator frustrations with real solutions. I've shot with many different sets of sticks - Gitzo, Bogen, Vinten, Sachtler, O'Connor. This is the best system I've ever used. It is so versatile and reliable. The counter balance system, the incremented drag, the illuminated level, and the 3-stage legs are all great features. The pan and tilt movement is very smooth. It's perfect for location shoots. We use it with a full-size HD ENG setup and it handles the weight (about 30 lbs) no problem. It's the best.
