The Sony FA-CC1AM Off-Camera Cable allows for flexible flash positioning and precise light balance control with the Sony Alpha SLR camera series. This cable's plug connects directly to any compatible flash featuring an off-camera socket (e.g. HVL-F56AM), and the shoe connects to the Sony Alpha's hot shoe.
For using this cable with flash units that don't feature the off-camera socket, add the FA-CS1AM shoe adapter.

Decent product
I found this product to work just fine, but the cable seems a bit long for bracket-mounting, often getting in the way.

Comments about Sony FA-CC1AM Off-Camera Cable:
I wanted to beat the harsh light and shadows created by an on-camera unit and this cable did the job. I also like the fact that the camera and flash can communicate for TTL metering or exposure adjustments. I chose not to rate higher because I have not used this item a great deal, yet.

Comments about Sony FA-CC1AM Off-Camera Cable:
i never thought i would need an extension cord for my photography, but i was wrong indeed. You may want a cord like that for your bracket/flash set up. Sony's provide a flash mount with their flashes, which is nice substitute for the [$] off camera shoe, the cord goes straight to your flash and has reasonable length, just enough to reach and extend - perfect. it helps focusing in dim light providing the red beam from the flash and syncs very well in all light conditions (Sony HVL - 56M). Note, be sure to check the performance, my first copy didn't work, the other was having issues too (tuned out to be poor contacts, had to clean them and from there it worked flawlessly )
