I watch TV using a projector. I read reviews of projector bulbs that were too dim or did not work purchased on auction sites and other sites for 1/4 the cost. Everyone ended up buying real Panasonic OEM, NOT OEM Equivalent, or Generic OEM. I decided to buy OEM from B&H as I am convinced that they stand behind their products and if something goes wrong they will make it right. You get what you pay for. Two days later - out of the box into the projector and instant success.

Comments about Panasonic ETLAE1000 Replacement Lamp for the PT-AE1000/2000/3000U Projectors:
I made the mistake of buying a knock-off bulb, which saved me over $200. Unfortunately, I spent about two hours working with a magnifying glass and small screw driver installing it because it didn't come with the housing. The bulb lasted about 150 hours... My original bulb is still alive and kicking and has over 2000 hours on it, but I replaced it because the warning light was on. I learned my lesson that for a $4000 projector that it's worth having an original bulb...

This lamp was installed in my Panasonic PT-AE2000U multimedia projector in less then 10 minutes, following the included instructions. It is working flawlessly with 10 hours of use thus far on the new lamp. I took a photo of a scene in a recorded HD program and when I took a duplicate photo of the same scene with the same manual camera settings after the lamp was replaced, the change in brightness was shocking. I run my projector lamps in eco-mode to get 2,500 to 3,000 hours of use.

Only reason I don't give 5 stars is high price of these lamps. I recommend paying the extra $100 for the genuine OEM lamps like this one over the OEM equivalent, as these genuine lamps last longer. I bought this lamp as a replacement to a cheap one that I had previously bought which only lasted a couple months...

I've tried the so-called "just like the OEM's" lamps from other "wanna-be experts" and have found that the real thing from Panasonic is the only lamp that I'll be buying from now on. The real Panasonic lamp provides the very best picture and brightness, complete with air filter. Fool me once...sent me right back to B&H. [...]

Comments about Panasonic ETLAE1000 Replacement Lamp for the PT-AE1000/2000/3000U Projectors:
I never realized my first bulb that came with the Panasonic AE2000U projector got dim on me. The original bulb lasted 1,990 hours (about 2-1/2 years) and it still works. The only problem is around 1,800 hours or so it developed a slight flicker, or pulsation that came and went. Never a big problem because most of the time it would only happen for a few seconds (and sometimes you question did it flicker) and quit then in about 10 minutes it do it again for a few seconds. At 1,900 hours it started to do it more frequent and then it became annoying and more noticeable. They only give it a maximum life span of 2000 hours so I feel I got it's use. So I broke down and paid the premium price. The new bulb seems to be somewhere about 30 to 60 watts brighter, (because of the dimming of age which they warn about) so bright in fact I toned down my brightness adjustments to make it no so bright. So if you feel your projector seems to be dimmer than you remembered and you're getting close or over 1800 hours, just break down and get a new one, huge improvement in the brightness. And did I mention the ease of installation, so easy a cave man could do it. I noticed in the manual it says a professional tech should replace the bulb. Not sure why.Defiantly worth the [$] tag.Figure it cost about $150.00 or less a year to operate not a bad price to me for my 110" movie theater. As much movies and tv I watch it's worth it to me.

The old lamp in my PT-AE2000u had 1700 hours on it and was getting dim so I broke down and replaced it.
Install was easy and the projector looks like new again! I took before and after photos of the image just for fun and there was a clear improvement.
Only had the replacement installed for a couple weeks but so far working perfectly.

This is also the replacement lamp for the PT-AE2000U projector, which we use.
Armed with a #2 philips screwdriver, the manual and the replacement, I was done in about 10 minutes. Installation was quick and easy. The replacement lamp also includes a replacement air filter which is useful.
I just wish the lamps lasted longer than 2000 hours.
