I use this as a backlight. The body appears to be well built of study plastic. The reflector uses a Bowens compatible connection.

So far, this little light has been great! At this price, you can't beat it. I'm planning to get another.

Comments about Westcott PB500 Photo Basics 500 Watt Yellow Flood Light (120VAC):
These are a great, cheap solution for lighting, but they are not capable of handling the rated 500 watt max. The front of the lamp is screwed into the plastic body which melted with 500 watt lamps in the middle of a shoot. I had a westcott strip bank attached and after about 20 minutes, the weight of the softbox pulled the front out from the screw mounts. I bought a replacement and now only use a 250 watt bulb.

Good Value. Works as advertised. Maybe a little larger then it needs to be. I like the reflector.

Comments about Westcott PB500 Photo Basics 500 Watt Yellow Flood Light (120VAC):
I understand why these are being closed out. Had I payed full price for this item, I would have probably never purchased another Westcott product again. This is a poorly constructed cheaply made light yet they do work and for the price they were extremely helpful the project I bought them for.

Comments about Westcott PB500 Photo Basics 500 Watt Yellow Flood Light (120VAC):
I bought these to flesh out my constant lighting array. I bought three to start with and added another three. You can't beat these for the money. They seem well constructed and have had no problems with moderate use thus far. My only druther would be that they had a rheostat/dimmer to make finer light adjustments. An inline device would probably work fine. I recommend.

Comments about Westcott PB500 Photo Basics 500 Watt Yellow Flood Light (120VAC):
Used this as a hair light with my strobes, works great, easy to use, and adding attachments are a breeze. The only issue is that the umbrella is a little hard to work with when using the reflector. The hole on the tilter bracket is too close. That is the only reason I gave it a 4 star rating

Comments about Westcott PB500 Photo Basics 500 Watt Yellow Flood Light (120VAC):
Biggest plus for this light was the price, which was my reason for the 4 stars. Quality is good and performance is acceptable. Only real complaint is that the reflector is too big to allow an umbrella to fit properly in the built in mount.
