The Kata CCC-1A Camcorder Case is a shoulder bag designed to carry full size professional camcorder with battery and lens installed. The lightweight yet highly protective case is due to the thermoformed laminated foam layers. The streamlined ergonomic shape keeps the center of gravity close to your body, and eases the burden when carrying. Double flap top opening ensures quick top handle grip access to the camcorder. Mini light can stay installed during transport as the flaps will zip up around it.
The CCC-1A protects the equipment by using water tight zippers, a structural shape which expands to cocoon the equipment, and an aluminum stave which is embedded in the top flap. The case has two large padded pockets front and rear, one flat pocket along the side, designated tripod plate pouch and a small set-up card pocket which is integrated in the top flap. It is carried by a APSS shoulder strap, "Click" interlocking handles, car transport front grip, dedicated seat belt securing slots and the optional DTS Insertrolley.

Comments about Kata CCC-1A Camcorder Case:
Designed for quick access, is my first impression; starting with the (no velcro) interlocking carrying handles, and the main opening twin zipper construction.
Yet I only have negative things to say, starting with both of the end pockets add an extra 10" of useless storage. Next the maximum measurements are meaningless, as it only applies to 2 square inches of the curved inside wall, and main opening is smaller than the advertised internal storage, creating an obstacle if your gear is larger than 8".
So in the end, all that smart design and quick access is meaningless.

Comments about Kata CCC-1A Camcorder Case:
I agree with Corey, its an awkward case and I hate having to loosen my viewfinder every time I put it in the case. Plus, one of the watertight zippers broke/separated after a couple months use. The case is very heavy-duty, the end pockets are so rigid its hard to get stuff in and out of them. I have a couple of other KATA camera cases that work fine, this one is just a dud.

Comments about Kata CCC-1A Camcorder Case:
Be prepared that this is a very long case. Also, don't expect to be able to comfortably fit a broadcast camera in here with a viewfinder installed. Every time I put the camera in the case, I would have to adjust the VF and slide it in towards the camera. I was never comfortable with the pressure that the sides of the case put on the viewfinder, even when it was retracted. Luckily I have now moved on to a PortaBrace Quickdraw (where the camera belongs) with dedicated viewfinder protection. This KATA case is now used for a small light kit. It will fit shorter stands inside the main compartment and a few small lights as well (with added padding between them). But like I said, this case is long and awkward... you will likely have trouble trying to use this as an everyday case for your camera. Getting through doorways and up stairways will be a real hassle.
Other than the lack of space for most broadcast cameras, this case is constructed great and feels sturdy. Each zippered compartment, including the main opening, have what appears to be a gasket like covering that closes up when you zipper it. This makes me not hesitate to bring this case in the rain and not worry too much about the contents inside. I also like the carrying straps (although the shoulder strap, not so much) They lock together with a simple design that makes it easy o carry this case around by hand provided that the contents aren't too heavy. Good case, but not for the intended use.

I use the case to house a Canon XGA1, a small lowell lite, lite stand, short tripod and all my accessories. Gives me a pretty good kit I can carry over my shoulder. Rugged enough to bounce around on location
