The Custom Brackets Digital PRO Bracket Kit is the ideal choice for use with Digital SLR camera systems. The unique rotation system which rotates around the center of the lens allows for locking not just at the vertical or horizontal axis but anywhere in between as well.
The kit includes the CMP universal camera mounting plate, the FCN flash mounting plate for Canon/Nikon off-camera flash cords, and the QR tripod quick release, for mounting the bracket to a tripod.
Note! Not recommended for shoe mounted infrared modules, e.g. Metz 54, 70, 76, Canon ST-E2 etc.

This thing just floors me. I upgraded from a Stroboframe Pro T (yes, for about 4x the price). Primary motivation: shooting vertical with the Stroboframe is just no good for weddings or other venues where reflected light is essential for soft quality light. With the Stroboframe, the flash really only stays "above the lens" (you rotate your arm, them flip the bracket hinge) when shooting direct forward flash. If you are using bounce flash or hybrid (split light up/forward, majority of my wedding shooting) you have to constantly rotate the flash head *after* rotating your arm and flipping the bracket (which also can whack people and solid objects nearby in process). Plus Lumiquest 80/20 (favorite) doesn't work at all with Stroboframe (since it must always be pointing up, can't rotate, else light shoots out side across room). Gary Fong Whale Tales don't work well either since every stinking vertical requires rotating the hinge and then the diffuser.
This Custom Brackets rotates the camera, not the flash. The flash never moves. The only way to go with my QFlashes and hotshoe flashes. It is a pleasure to use. Excellent tactile response, solid. I have the complete works: camera and tripod quick releases, second platform for radio trigger, etc. Expensive, but worth every penny. Wish I had bought it first.
Went back and forth on left hand versus right on brackets. I carefully studied pictures of the Stroboframe Pro camera rotating model, plus the Pro and Pro M from Custom Brackets. I adjusted to the left fine on this one. You hold the horn handle below the lens barrel in left hand...eh, with I could show you what I mean. It works...well. Since I use the neck strap I hardly use the handle. Anyway...borrow one if you can to try it.

Good enough but always could be better!
I like the functionality of the bracket but wish the design could be a bit more advanced allowing the flash holder be more adjustable like hight and rotation. Overall good!

Comments about Custom Brackets Digital PRO-M Camera Rotating Bracket Kit:
I have used several different brackets and all have worked but none have satisified my needs. I always had to adjust my flash to the position of the camera and that was an extra step that used valuable seconds when photographing weddings. This bracket eliminates that extra step. Just rotate the camera in its original position and the flash is situated exactly the same regardless. The downside to this particualr bracket is the wieght. Also, there is no need to buy an additional anti twist plate and it is part of the design. Finally a company that doesn't charge you extra for an essential part. Unfortunately it is heavier than the other brackets I've used. I realize it is due to its design, but every ounce added is amplified in your wrists when photographing all day.

Comments about Custom Brackets Digital PRO-M Camera Rotating Bracket Kit:
I bought this bracket to use with off-camera flash with protrait framing. This bracket is extreaminy well made. The machining of the parts is very precise and smooth to the touch. The mounting of the camera has a plate with adjustments to keep the camera from rotating on the plate. This is a great feature. Rotating the camera, in my opinion, is much better than flipping the flash. It is faster, easier to handle, and safe for the flash. The design has a "Hand Hold" feature directly under the camera mount which makes it easy to hold and steady the camera. It is well worth the extra cost over some of the other brackets. After all, if you are going to mount many thousands of dollars worth of equipment on a bracket you need to get a really good solid bracket and this is it. I am very pleased with this item. I shoot a 5D mk3 with a 580 EX2 so the additional weight is not that noticible.

Comments about Custom Brackets Digital PRO-M Camera Rotating Bracket Kit:
I use this camera primarily for weddings and while I LOVE using it, and will continue to do so, with all of the great features; there are things that I don't love about it as well.
First, the "Good": I love the lens cradle, which allows you to hold the camera naturally, as if you don't even have a device supporting it. I use this in reception halls where the light weight makes it easy to shoot for long periods without any noticeable discomfort. And the retracting flash support lets me carry it in a standard camera bag. You can also release the flash head pretty quickly. When you carry this baby around, you are the "PROFESSIONAL", and the amateurs bow to you—lol!!
Now, the "Bad": The camera swings in a smooth arc, until you reach the 90 degree pivot stops. When I spin the camera, it snaps into place with a rather jarring "klunk", which shakes the camera noticeably. I would prefer a design that rotates the camera smoothly all the way through the movement.
The Ugly: Well maybe not "ugly", but certainly noteworthy—lol! The "kick-stand" legs that you fold out to keep the camera standing do not EVER stay in place. I am CONSTANTLY having to push them back, which is extremely aggravating when on the job. There have been times when the whole thing crashed over due to these little things disappearing. I think there should be some sort of fail-safe mechanism that positively snaps it into position.
Also, the flash support has a tendency to slide all over the place unless it is f-i-r-m-l-y locked down. Maybe add click stops?
Well, other than the "nit picks", this is a pretty darn awesome rig that I heartily recommend to anyone who is serious about event photography.
I can say without hesitation that it is built to last a lifetime, and certainly worth every penny.

Comments about Custom Brackets Digital PRO-M Camera Rotating Bracket Kit:
Camera mount is completely adjustable to fit pro cameras with or without battery grip. The bracket rotates the camera to keep the flash on top when using in landscape or portrait orientation. The rotation mechanism uses detents so there's no buttons or levers to get the camera to rotate and this makes it easy and fast to operate in the middle of action-packed events such as weddings. This is my second Pro-M bracket. I've been using the first one for 4 years and decided to get another one for my other camera. First one still functions and looks like new (even though I've done several beach weddings). Even though it doesn't fit in my camera bag, I still recommend this bracket (and I've tried many). To overcome it not fitting in my bag, I rigged up a Velcro strap to hold it to the outside of the bag.

Comments about Custom Brackets Digital PRO-M Camera Rotating Bracket Kit:
It felt like a quality product. Instructions are useless. I'm still not sure what the anti-rotation screws do on the CMP when the camera is already mounted. I broke my OC-E3 on the flash bracket the first time I used it. It's probably Canon's design fault but the flash mounting is weak and diddly. The CMP is also in the way when using in portrait mode and you need to reach around for the shutter release. Despite all these negative comments, I know I will grow to love it.

The custom pro m rotating bracket is great! I shoot a lot of verticle shots and love the ease of rotating quickly into the verticle position. I use a battery grip as well and there's plenty of room for it. The only downside is the weight, but the quality of the product is worth it.

This bracket has changed the quality if my pictures greatly. I shoot club pictures and weddings and this bracket gives me pro results. Remounting the camera after you take it off the bracket plate is a hassle because you will need a screw driver with you.

All i have to say is that this bracket made my life easier. I've had problems with brackets in the past where the turning of the actual flash breaks one end of the sync cable but just the fact that the camera is the one turning there is no stress on the flash or cable. A little bulky but it's worth it!!

TONS of research and THIS IS( for me) THE best Flash bracket I could afford!!
This puppy is light AND tuff.
Smooth rotation and a lovely CLICK to verify lock
I have put a 7D With grip,70-200 IS 2.8 USM Mark II and 580 EX II on it and it balanced VERY well.(You do need to get several do-hickies to use grip and quick release etc, so keep that in mind.)They are a little pricey but It's a buy one and done deal so far.Besides you don't want to attach several thousand $ of EQ on a $3.00 part!
I am definitely IMPRESSED with this bracket!!
Although I HAVE NOT had a chance to field test it I will update the review when I do.Thanks for reading

4.5 star rating. It is very easy to use and assemble. I use it with a battery pack so it is very easy to replace batteries. Solidly built. American made. Purchase the optional quick release for the camera with this kit. Taking the camera off would take a few seconds that you may not have.

This bracket is a must have for photographers that work weddings or events. It is very easy to use and helps with stability and control of each shot. I added the camera quick release to mine so that when I want to take the camera off the bracket or tripod that I use then it takes only a few seconds to do that.

I always seem to have a problem with the harsh background flash bouncing the flash. I do wedding photography and in most chases I have to be fast in taking some shots, I don't have time to think how the flash should be bounced and in most situations I am walking backwards to capture the event.
Finally I decided to spend up and buy this Digital ProM kit. I used it last week for a wedding. It was so relaxing working with this gadget as only had to think about composition and capturing the emotions. I only had to flip the camera.
It's a bit costly but it is durable so it should last me a life time. The only thing against it is that now I am carrying more weight in my hands but I rather that then the harsh shadows. Extremely happy with this product.
