I've been taking photos and printing them for about 17 years. Mostly doing black and white emulsion and prints in my bathroom darkroom. About 5 years ago I switched to digital photography. Two years ago I purchased the Epson Stylus 1400 photo printer and began making prints. I've been very pleased with the color's I'm able to get from the Epson toner and paper combinations. Very rich and saturated and the blacks are black. My only criticism about the toner is that the number of prints you get out of one cartridge seems a bit low. But that seems to be the case for all printers I've used. And I understand printer manufacture's make there money on toner.

Yeah ! I have tried all of the aftermarket replacement inks. They are comparably cheap but do not perform well. In some instances they may not be even recognized by the printer. I use the printer mostly for photo printing and there is no comparison. 4 stars because it is horribly expensive.
