Hasn't been tested by a thief yet but both the cable and the lock are sturdy and good quality materials. Really like the product and this is a very good price.

I was curious when I saw that lock, despite some reviews not totally in its favor this lock is just ok, obviously you need to worry about not losing the keys, but if this is no issue to you, this works just fine in older Dell Lattitude d830.

This lock does what it's supposed to and you can lock other items up with it...Lock fit fine with my HP DV6 Select Edition laptop. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the cable is a bit thin. Overall great product, great value.
