Works great!
I guess you could call it a pricey piece of plastic, but it works great indoors in super warm rooms. It changes the color of your flash making heavy flash shots look nicer.

Comments about Gary Fong AmberDome:
Purchased this with the Gary Fong collapsible dome. It's a little pricy, but it does what it's supposed to do. A little fiddly to fit onto the dome though, so a little patiences goes a long way.

This diffuser is a little better than the one comes with SC800. I wish it came with more instructions about how to mount domes for different situations.

I use it with both the Universal Cloud Lightsphere and the Collapsible Lightsphere - and it works as advertised. Warms the light just enough.

Works like it was supposed to. The bride and groom didn't look like big dressed up carrots so no complaints.

Comments about Gary Fong AmberDome:
The amberdome is meant for only the cloud diffuser and does a great job at blending the light of your flash with the ambient light to the point where your flash becomes invisible. Faster f-stops are a necesity for it to work correctly (f/1.4-f/4). Works great. You can even use it outside during the day to warm up your portraiture.

A great accessory for my lightsphere II. The AmberDome provides a natural warm glow to the subject without being obvious about it.

Comments about Gary Fong AmberDome:
This amber dome gives you wonderful warm tones in all situations. Be careful with low ceilings as it will cause the amber to become too "orange" depending on the subject and ambient lighting.
I've used it outdoors doing expectant mother photos in a large garden / park and indoors at a small informal wedding and had great results with both situations and everything in between.
