I bought a box of these to use in my new Canon HV40 miniDV camcorder. So far they work great with no issues.
I'm a long time user of Panasonic miniDV tapes way back in the Canon GL1 and XL1s days. I've never had any issues in over a decade of using Panasonic miniDV tapes, and I expect the HDV ones to be even better!

I've been using these cassettes for several years now. They have been very reliable. No drop outs or any mechanical problems - although I do not reuse them. They serve as an archival copy of the raw footage for my clients. I have pulled video from 2-year old cassetted without any problems.

I recently purchased (5) Panasonic HDV tapes over the more expensive Sony brand, and I was skeptical about the quality but I have to say, that this was worth the buy... The "High Definition" quality is superb, and I have not had any problems at all of any sort.
