The use of Berg Selenium Toning Solution on warm tone papers results in reddish brown tones on toning for 2 to 10 minutes in Berg Selenium Toning Solution, diluted 1 part toner to 3 parts of water (1:3). Other papers may give little or no color change.
To avoid color change, but protect the image and increase D'max (deepen dark blacks and increase contrast somewhat), dilute 1 part toner with 10 to 30 parts of water, and tone for about 2 to 10 minutes.
After toning, use fresh Berg Bath solution and wash thoroughly to achieve maximum archival protection.

Comments about Berg Toner for Black & White Prints - Selenium:
Am using this on lith and silver gelatin prints and
am loving the tones and colors it produces on both although they do take the toner differently. Plus it makes the print more archival so even better!
The only bad part is the fumes are pretty powerful even with a ventilating fan.

Comments about Berg Toner for Black & White Prints - Selenium:
I used this to increase d-max of prints on a neutral-tone paper (arista.edu ultra rc vc pearl). I loved the results after 10 minutes in this toner at dilution 1:3. One caution, though: The prints might stain if you wash in regular hypoclear afterwards (I had to buy Berg Bath).

Comments about Berg Toner for Black & White Prints - Selenium:
I used the selenium toner to protect a few of my b&w prints and it was really simple. The instructions were easy to follow and it came with everything necessary to get started. It did smell though, but that was the only down-side.
