Behringer Europort EPA40 40W Handheld PA System
Behringer's Europort EPA40 40W Handheld PA System is totally portable and was designed for use at public appearances with crowds of up to 100 people. This PA system can conveniently be slung over your shoulder so you can speak to your audience while remaining completely mobile.
With a 5" full-range loudspeaker and 40 watts of power, you get great sound output. The integrated battery pack gives you 8 hours of continuous operation. The EPA40 even includes a high-quality dynamic microphone, a charger and the necessary cables.

I use the EPA40 for medium-large tour groups, and for volume and clarity, it can't be beat, especially for the price. Like others, I almost immediately experienced a bad mic cable. Tried other mics, adapters, but it really only likes the mic supplied, so I disassembled, resoldered, and the repair has held up for a couple of years.The battery, OTOH, is also proprietary, with _no_ replacements available, even from Behringer. (I've had one on order ("3-5 day delivery" HAH!) since April of this year! Batteries Plus is unable to create a battery, as it is an unusual 12V system in a common 6V case, and the terminals have to be pretty much exactly as designed for it to work - no room to shim or adjust. Bottom line: I am ordering another, because it is that good. But, I am also purchasing the 3 year warranty. For the cost of a non-existent battery, when it craps out in 18 months, I'll get my full purchase price back.

EXCELLENT SPEAKER FOR STARTING TRACK MEET RACES. HOWEVER, AFTER 1.5 YEARS, CANNOT FIND A BATTERY RREPLACE. NO OONE SEEMS TO KNKNOW WHERE TO GET A REPLACEMENT. WENT TO THE ORIGINAL STORE WHERRE PURCHASED AND THEY BATTERY IS NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION, ABUT YOU ARE STILL SELLING THE UNIT.

Tour guides use this when addressing large groups. It is great that it doesn't need batteries, but the battery pack does take a very long time to fully charge. This unit has a very impressive volume range, so caution must actually be taken that your users don't experience hearing damage. We purchased it on "Cyber Monday."

I am an auctioneer and was very happy to have this while traveling on a trip that I couldn't carry my full system. It is very powerful for such a small system. It is a little flimsy (the plastic cracked a bit in the luggage) but can't be beat for the price.

Nice PA, good sound, more than adequate for our needs - leading small (<50)tour groups around our facilities. After the first hour and a half, the mic became intermittent, and I finished off the day as usual, yelling.
Took the XLR plug apart, and saw that one of the small wires had broken inside the boot. Cut them all, stripped to fresh wire, and re-soldered, adding a strain relief to stop it from happening again. So far so good since. Despite this, it seems to be a very good product, at a great price.

I use this product to address crowds in public.
The EPA40 is very lightweight and compact. It's easy to use and has a superb battery life. It will crank up pretty well for a small unit, which I enjoy because the crowds I address are sometimes very loud. You can hear in a downtown busy traffic area from about 30-40 yards away.
The only thing I didn't like about the EPA40 was the fact that it was kind of "hollow" sounding because of the hard plastic frame. I am actually planning on taking mine apart and putting some foam in there to make it a bit more "bass-y" (if that's even a word) or warm and give it a more full tone.
