Although I have a camera case, there are times when I want to put my camera in my padded fanny pack. This cover adds another level of protection. The cover slips on and off and so I can keep it on even when the camera is around my neck and I do not have to worry about the camera hitting something or getting wet -- and when the cover is off, it is still attached. Nearly a perfect fit for my Nikon D90 and 18-118 lens.

Comments about D-Midsize Zoom, Soft Pouch - Digital D Series (Black):

I looked at many different soft cases before choosing this one. This was exactly what I needed.
I wanted an easy access soft case for the times that I don't want to carry my large backpack case. I have a Canon 7D and it is a slightly snug but adequate fit with a 70-300 zoom attached.
I have purchased many times from B&H - very reliable vendor with good prices.

Comments about D-Midsize Zoom, Soft Pouch - Digital D Series (Black):

This was for my daughter's Rebel T1i with 18-135mm zoom lens. It's more convenient for transporting (and also when going on an excursion) than larger bags. I use the larger size with my 60D with18-200mm zoom. It provides good protection, fits well and is easy to use (putting on and taking off the camera).

Comments about D-Midsize Zoom, Soft Pouch - Digital D Series (Black):

I purchased this for my Nikon D3100. It fits nicely with a Sigma 50-200mm lens (3 x 4"). I also use it with the Nikon 18-55mm kit lens, but obviously with that lens there is a lot of extra room/neoprene past the lens, so I would not have chosen this size (D-mid-zoom)for that lens only. I wanted some everyday padded protection similar to that which the 35mm SLR bodies used to have. This type of pouch seemed the only thing available. I thought the picture was rather ugly, however, and I did not think it convenient for pulling the camera out to take shots. However, luckily I went to the OpTech USA website and checked it out. I watched the video of assembly/prep/removal and was very intrigued--and hooked. Indeed, after purchasing the pouch I attached the little hang strap that comes with it around my camera neck strap, and it is very convenient to pop the camera in and out of the pouch for shots, and I don't have to worry about losing it. (Unsnap two snaps, push the neoprene down and away from the camera body, pop the camera out, and voila!) If I had not watched the video, I never would have considered this pouch since from the description and reviews I did not realize its potential/full capabilities. Their website also has a nice "product finder" setup to figure out which model you want based on your camera body and lens size(s). Using the product finder I picked a good size to fit my camera and 50-200mm lens nicely so that I can carry my camera in a large non-camera bag for outings. This worked extremely well for a trip to Greece (several islands). I packed all of my electronics and essential in-plane items into a well-padded "laptop" SwissGear backpack, but for most of the trip I used a cross-body bag/satchel and hotel room safes. Whichever lens I was not using went into a Lowepro padded lens case (from B&H) and also went into the large bag or stayed in the hotel. I was able to put a small purse and a 7" tablet (in fitted case) and/or 11.6" netbook (in fitted neoprene case) into my large bag depending on my current activity. This pouch protected my camera and mounted lens in the bag (and out) perfectly, and my camera is quite happy staying in this pouch instead of a cumbersome large padded camera bag. I keep the spare battery and SD cards in a small pouch that slides over my camera strap (padded neoprene), with a Spudz microfiber cleaning cloth/pouch (from B&H) clipped on as well, so I can just grab it and go without a bag. Life is great with this wonderful case/pouch! So do yourself a favor and check out the video on the manufacturer's website, then come back here and buy it from the best. Once you go B&H, you don't go anywhere else....

I use the pouch with my Canon EOS Rebel and Tamron 70-300 mm lens. Fits perfectly! It's easy to get on and off and protects the camera in my bag. It is much easier to use than the Zing SLR camera cover. The only thing I don't like is the way it attaches to the camera. So I just remove the pouch and stick in in my bag when I'm shooting.

I've had this carrying pouch for a couple of weeks now. Previous to the purchase i did quite some online research and ended up with this pouch.

I'm using it for my Canon rebel series body connected to either the standard 18-55is kit lens or my 70-200mm f4 zoom lens. It's a bit too long for the standard zoom lens, but I was positively surprised, it even works with my (rather long) zoom lens if stretched.

All in all it is just what I was looking for. It will not replace a camera bag as it won't hold many accessories. It is fantastic for travelling light without risking your camera.

Great for protecting my E500/520 with the 70-300mm lens attached. Can keep the camera handy on the strap and take this pouch off in a jiffy. Offers some padding to the camera & lens.

My wife was tired of carrying the huge camera bag to soccer games, so we needed something to prevent accidental damage to and from the car. This pouch fit the bill and and our Canon XT still fits in the bag with the pouch. Great product.
