Comments about Slik Professional 4 Tripod Legs - Supports 22 lb:
I have used slik tripods for 20+ years and the original ones are still in production. 4x5, 120, Phase backs and now mostly for fluid heads - Broadcast HDcams with monitors, mics, rails and everything else I find need to hang off these legs. I know I can put my gear 10' in the air, secure the feet nailed into the ground and the gear is safe. Even in crowded festival situations with people walking into you.

Comments about Slik Professional 4 Tripod Legs - Supports 22 lb:
This is by far the best tripod I have used in my 20 years in the business and I've used bogen and Gitzo and they are nice too. But this is super high, rock solid, easy on the hands, geared center, and TAL-TALL-TALLL-TALLLL... with 4 sections. I don't think there is a taller tripod, though there are many that are lighter. While it may seem like overkill for medium format, all tripods get wonkyer when they are at max extension. And the weight actually improves stability and is less of an issue in the studio and where travel is not an issue. I will probably replace mine with the new carbon fiber SLIK version to lighten my gear and my wallet but if you can stand the weight you will not find a more stable ride. I would not put a 4x5, 5x7, or 8x10 on anything smaller.

Fantastic tripod. Esp for video. Why spend twice the money for carbon fiber if you're not carrying it around a lot?
