The Slik PROFESSIONAL tripod legs are a member of Slik's "PROFESSIONAL" collection.  While they aren't well known in the United States, they do have an enviable reputation in Japan.  Rock solid and easy on your hands, the Professionals are embodied by abundant intelligence and precision craftsmanship.  Consider them a pinnacle amongst studio tripods, with stepladder-height capacity and the strength for large setups.

Slik's unique and patented engineering, plus a remarkably wide selection of tripods, makes it is easy to choose just the right one to hold your camera steady at any angle, on virtually any terrain, for applications indoors or outdoors.

Note: Tripod Head NOT Included

Versatile
The leg angle locks to let you set the tripod to 3 different height positions. Each lock is independent, so that the tripod can be set up quickly and easily on steps or uneven terrain.
Grooved Tubular Legs
The groove prevents the leg from turning during extension or retraction, and it allows simple and secure locking.
Worm Gear Elevation
Center column elevation works only by the turning of its crank, so that there are no accidental falls.
Maximum upper leg diameter of 36mm

Comments about Slik THE PROFESSIONAL Tripod Legs:

I use this tripod with a Slik 3-way head for when I need precision alignment and super stability (product shots, testing lenses and cameras, etc.) and when I don't want the camera set-up to be at the risk off falling over or being easily moved by being bumped by people (esp. children) at an event when I'm doing video.

The light carbon fiber tripods are great for outdoor hikes and the like, and I have one, but there are times when a stable solid tripod like this is truly worth it. Having the geared center column as on this particular tripod makes precision shots a breeze.

I've owned Gitzo aluminum heavy Series 5 tripods before, but in my experience this Slik is just as stable and is superior in smoothness of operating the legs.

The price is very reasonable for the quality. This is one of the best photo equipment purchases I've ever made.

Comments about Slik THE PROFESSIONAL Tripod Legs:

I am a pro commercial photographer and I have been using this tripod for about 8 years. It is the best one I have found for the money and I have no real complaints. I have several Gitzos and Bogens and even a Berlebach, but this is the one that I carry with me every day. Not great for travel, due to it's size and weight, but very solid, simple and dependable. Height adjusts fast and the geared column is great for smaller movements. Won't get you really close to the ground, but I highly recommend it for anyone wanting a studio/location tripod that won't break the bank.

Comments about Slik THE PROFESSIONAL Tripod Legs:

They often ask, 'how can we take clear and vivid photos?' and they blame on their innocent cameras or lenses for the lack of vividness. Even with the perfect focus, if you still get unclear photos, then most likely, your camera was shaking when you were pressing the shutter. If your main purpose is to get the clear photo, then the most effective way is to use the Tripod.

I've been using Slick Tripod for long time, and I recently bought the "Professional Tripod Legs" because I needed a heavier one. My new tripod is big and heavy enough that i can put 4x5 view camera on it. It has an elevator function, so it just makes everything easier. Also, it's made in Japan, so it's really strong and reliable.
I am using the Slick Ball Head for the head part and forthe SLR cameras, it's just as good as it gets.

Not long ago, a dog was running around and hit the tripod that i had set up for a photo shoot, and almost broke my camera. Ever since then, I never use light weight tripod.
Like Jane Austen said, it is a truth universally acknowledged that for the tripod, heavier the better!.
