The Dot Line Extended Stealth Flash Bracket is a rotating flash bracket that has been designed to fit very snug to the camera, allowing the photographer to operate the camera as though there were no bracket attached. This makes it easy to keep the camera attached to the bracket at all times. This Extended version of the Stealth bracket adds another inch to the height of the bracket, which allows it to be also used with cameras that have a battery booster/vertical grip added to them.

Flash brackets are designed to increase the distance between the flash head and the lens in order to minimize the occurrence of redeye and to also reduce flash-shadows behind the subject. The pivoting flash arm keeps the flash positioned over the lens in both horizontal and vertical position.

In addition, this kit comes supplied with the necessary off-camera flash cord, which maintains all i-TTL functions of Nikon SLR cameras.

Comments about RPS Lighting Extended Stealth Flash Bracket with Off-Camera Cord for Nikon SLR:

Fits good on D700 and D3s, use on D3 requires bolting it on a bit crooked to no block shutter release. Flip mechanism a bit flimsy and not strong enough for heavy SB900, flips down on its own sometimes. After moderate use for 2 years started having connection problems and now totally lost all connection with flash. Junk now....

Comments about RPS Lighting Extended Stealth Flash Bracket with Off-Camera Cord for Nikon SLR:

A bit too flimbsy if you load it up with a Photoflex PHMCUSM Multiclamp with Shoe Mount. Tendency to twist in that configuration, esp if you add on a Litedome XS. "Flip" feature a little too loose so that it can "flop" on you unexpectedly if you are moving from portrait to landscape and visa versa. Having a "lockable" mechanism would be better.

Original off camera cord communicated lens settings on camera to SB800, but would never "fire" the flash. B&H was kind enough to provide a cord replacement which worked fine.

    KUDOS to B&H.

Nothing is great with product, it will not last long with a heavy flash. Not worth the money.

Very sturdy construction. Mounts close to the camera and it is not bulky. I would like a longer cord for off bracket shots.

Comments about RPS Lighting Extended Stealth Flash Bracket with Off-Camera Cord for Nikon SLR:

I found exactly what i was looking for with this product. I shopped around and the best price was right here at B&H Photo. It was easy to order and came quickly in the mail. This bracket is terrific for removing shadows that you would normally have leaving the flash directly on the camera. It's light and easy to use, and has room should I decide to order an extended battery pack. I love it and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Comments about RPS Lighting Extended Stealth Flash Bracket with Off-Camera Cord for Nikon SLR:

After much research, I settled on the Dot Line Stealth Flash Bracket because of it's reasonable cost and the way it mounts right next to my D300. Also of note is the included camera cord.

In use, the bracket works OK for the occasional use it has been put to so far; however it remains to be seen as to how the tilt feature will hold up to long term use (I have a little concern about the weight of the SB800 when connected to an external battery pack.)
