Comments about Canon Fine Art Natural White Paper (Matte, 230 gsm) - 8.5x11" - 50 Sheets:
When it comes to fine matte photo printing this is not the paper to use, but it does work well for some applications. It has a very slightly rough texture, not hard and smooth. It works quite well for scanned art illustrations, which I use for greeting cards. The 230 gsm weight for greeting cards is very good. Not a high quality matte paper for photo printing. Moab Lasal Matte double-sided 235 and Hahnumuhle Natural Art Duo in 256 have harder smoother surfaces for fine photo printing and finer 5x7 greeting cards, although they cost more. Even the Inkpress Duo Matte 80 has a better surface finish and will print photos better than this one, but it's just 215 gsm weight (okay for small prints and 4.5 x 6.25 greeting cards). Bottom line: This paper saves money when you don't absolutely need those finer surface finishes, and in a few instances, it seems to be just the right paper. Works very well on both my Epson Artisan 50 and my Epson Pro 3880. Bargain price is one its best attributes!
