Ideal for shooting situations in which zooming isn't needed. The .55X attaches to the front of your video zoom lens for 45% wider angle of view and minimal distortion.
It allows partial zooming up to mid-range while in Auto Focus (loses focus beyond 6X). The resulting focal length is 2.15-21.5mm with increased horizontal angle of view.
- Compatibility
- The OHD-55WA-SH6 is compatible with the HDR-FX7 and the HDR-V1U. The converter lens connects to the V1U via a bayonet mount, which is a series of slats and tabs that offset for a quick and firm fit.

i bought this wide angle adapter for my v1u and it is really wide compared to the widest setting on the v1u lens. i am very satisfied with it. it does not have any problems with locking on focus close up or zoomed as long as you don't go pass it's limit when you zoom out far. if you use the zoom number setting on the lcd screen it will reach about 72 before it goes out of focus.

I recently picked this Wide Angle lens along with a new Sony FX7. Does the job perfectly so far and gives me just enough extra room in my studios that I needed to make my shots pick up a little more that was needed to be in the shot. Course it won't look spectacular on the stock lens that comes with the FX7, but get a 35mm adapter on the camera and you'll be good to go!
