I had needed a safety glass for quite awhile for my Smith Victor 710SG light. I just happened to run onto it on the B&H site and felt the price was a good deal.

Comments about Smith-Victor Safety Glass 710/765SG for 710SG and 765SG Pro-Quartz Light:
The product, itself, is fine. It's exactly what it's supposed to be, but it seems like Smith-Victor designed the lights so that these little panes of glass would just fall out with the slightest bump. The safety glass, if I understand this correctly, is meant to stop you from breaking the bulbs, which is fine, but why do they have to be so loosely fitted onto the light?
Anyway, when you inevitably break the safety glass on your light, this is the replacement you want.

Comments about Smith-Victor Safety Glass 710/765SG for 710SG and 765SG Pro-Quartz Light:
I work in a school with 4 kits of 765-UM lights. The glass disc is the Achilles heal of these heads. Make sure you have spare discs because you will break them! (The disc gets wedged into it's mount during transport and then it can't expand when the light heats, so it shatters instead. Make sure the disc floats freely in its mount, and call Smith Victor to complain about their design.)

Comments about Smith-Victor Safety Glass 710/765SG for 710SG and 765SG Pro-Quartz Light:
In order to protect the bulbs on the 765 open face light during transportation and handling, I have three times ordered the safety glass. Each time, as soon as the lights get hot, the glass breaks. A much better solution would be to do what Lowel does for Tota lights - a simple piece of stainless wide-weave mesh.
