Product Highlights
  • For Caliber .223 Remington (5.56 NATO)
  • Fast and Easy Bore Sight Device
  • Rapid Sighting-In Without Live Fire
  • Laser Dot Indicates Barrel Direction
  • Get on Paper Indoors

The .223 Remington (5.56 NATO) Laser Boresight from Sightmark provides a rapid and convenient method for boresighting firearms chambered in .223 Remington (5.56 NATO). Turn the boresighter on and insert it in your firearm, just as you would chamber a regular cartridge. Orienting your firearm toward a vertical surface, the laser dot will indicate exactly where the barrel is pointed. Stabilize the firearm, and adjust your scope or sight to coincide with the dot; your firearm is now on paper at approximately 15-50 yards, without firing a single shot. Live fire is necessary for determining exact zero, based on distance, load and firearm.

This laser boresighter is most useful with firearms having limited access to the breech, such as most semiautos, lever-action rifles and revolvers. Designed primarily for indoor use at short distances, the laser might be visible outdoors too, at distances of up to 50 yards, depending on light conditions. It can save you time and ammo, as it precludes travel to the range and trial-and-error, live-fire based boresighting. The laser is actuated by tightening the end-cap, and will stay on until loosened again. The boresighter comes in a lightweight carrying pouch, which protects the laser for convenient use in the field. It is compatible with all firearms chambered for the .223 Remington (5.56 NATO) and cartridges based on it, such as the .223 Ackley Improved or 6x45.

Hassle-Free Boresighting with Many FIrearms
It is not possible to look through the bore from the breech area of many firearms, especially lever-action, pump-action and semiauto rifles, as well as revolvers and semiauto pistols. That's when you have difficulty boresighting your gun. This laser boresighter slides in the chamber without disassembly, making the sighting-in process much more efficient and convenient.
Indoor Sighting-In, a Fast Way to Zeroing
When you need to zero a new firearm or you got a new scope, red-dot or any other sights, this device will get you on paper rapidly, without leaving the comfort of your home. Once done, you're ready to test point of impact with live-fire and make adjustment for final zeroing.

The Sightmark Model 223 Laser Bore Sight is a super product at a remarkable low price at B&H. This Laser will get you on paper at 100 yards! Compared to all the other types (and I have them all) this works the best. It shines on rifles that have the sight well above the bore which eliminates most other boresights because they don't line up. The type that plug into the front of the bore are subject to move and therefore change the point of aim. There is no switch to mess with; put in the batteries, chamber and adjust the sight...couldn't be easier!

I used this to help zero in an AR15 with an EOTech sight and it worked perfectly. After going to the range afterwards it was perfectly zeroed in without any additional adjustments.

Comments about Sightmark .223 Remington (5.56 Nato) Laser Boresighter:

This thing is great. Made zeroing my rifle so much easier than a pick and shoot since there is very little flat ground around my area. I also used it while I was in the military and it made a huge difference in both the quality of my zero and maintaining that zero as well as reduced the time and rounds needed to zero. It is also a good way to teach my wife barrell awareness.

The laser is best seen at dusk, but what do you expect? It worked perfectly and made scoping in on a target a breeze. The only thing I would change is to install a on/off switch rather than removing the batteries.

A great way to say ammo for real shooting, the way its described is misleading. To turn the laser on and off is inserting or removing the batterys. I would recommend having a cleaning rod handy to knock the laser out of the chamber. However this is a great product to get your optic zeroed in without wasting rounds, remember to adjust for bullet drop when zeroing your optic though.

Could be some pilot error involved here, but it's made of very thin aluminum be gentle...

Comments about Sightmark .223 Remington (5.56 Nato) Laser Boresighter:

The Sightmark is a single caliber laser device. It's well made and easy to use. There are no switches. It takes two AG5/393 batteries (included). The device is activated by un-screwing the rear-ward cap, inserting the batteries and replacing the cap.
The laser is very bright but needs dull day to be seen during daylight hours. The laser beam is about 1" diameter at 25 meters.
I give it 4 stars because the batteries are difficult to find and can be expensive. 393 batteries range in price from $1.50 to $5. Battery life is proported to be around 1 hour.

While this bore sight works roughly as expected, I've found that it's not very bright at all. It works fine indoors for distances up to about 15 yds but for anything farther out, you need to wait until nighttime. Even then, at 25 yds it's very hard to see the dot.

Comments about Sightmark .223 Remington (5.56 Nato) Laser Boresighter:

The Sightmark Model 223 Laser Bore Sight is a super product at a remarkable low price at B&H. This Laser will get you on paper at 100 yards! Compared to all the other types (and I have them all) this works the best. It shines on rifles that have the sight well above the bore which eliminates most other boresights because they don't line up. The type that plug into the front of the bore are subject to move and therefore change the point of aim. There is no switch to mess with; put in the batteries, chamber and adjust the sight...couldn't be easier!
