I purchased this powerpoint remote for lectures (~twice a week). I've tried a couple of the red lasers that Interlink sells, but they don't show up as well as needed for a well lit classroom. The Jade is brighter, and also has mouse features, so this is a step up. I've only used it for a week, but if it holds up then the improved features make it worth the additional cost. The programmable buttons aren't necessary for my purposes, I purchased the Jade instead of the version without the programmable buttons because the reviews of the other green laser by Interlink were too negative. I hope Interlink will develop a better green laser powerpoint remote lacking the programmable buttons so it isn't necessary to waste money on that feature (which also contributes to the slightly unwieldy size of the Jade).
As others have noted, Interlink dropped the ball on packaging this otherwise excellent product. They don't provide a means of carrying the usb link within the pointer, they don't provide a bag for both--they don't even provide a cap for the usb! Given the cost of this pointer and the fact that Interlink provides such conveniences for cheaper pointers, this is absurd.

We used this for a small conference where we needed to have a remote in the front of the room, laptops in the back, and we had a few issues with this unit.
First, this device comes with an adapter to put the receiver in on the desktop or wherever you're using it. Use it or you'll run into issues galore with reception and consistency in communication. It took us a half day to realize what was going on.
Second, this unit really needs solid power going to the receiver to work well also. I would recommend a powered usb hub for the best performance.
Finally, this presenter was found to be a challenge by numerous speakers. May work well if you're using this personally, but if you have numerous people that need to use it on a single day and have no experience, issues will arise. The biggest flaw here is the circular button that has four functions depending on which side you use. It's very easy to advance a slide instead of the laser and vice versa. It would be best if there were unique buttons for each function and they were separated.
It does have a quality feel, and works well when it's working and a presenter doesn't click the wrong spot on the unit.

Use to Index slides etc through worship.
Programming of buttons as powerpoint fixed remotes don't work on Easy Worship.
I had a problem programming it. Easy Worship Rep too control and walked me through. The reason was that I kept getting a message to plug in device, which I did. Finally got that and all is good now. Now to train the users.

I had a presentation that was held in a theater and needed a long range presentation remote that could reach the projection room from the front of the theater for a PowerPoint presentation. This remote worked beautifully. We had 10 different presenters and everyone was able to successfully use it. Though as with any remote, I would suggest a quick 1 minute tutorial before the presentation. Some of our presenters kept pointing the remote at the actual movie screen instead of the projector room and it still worked wonderfully. The laser and the mouse both work great as well. I would highly recommend this for any professional presentation.

Comments about Smk-link VP4910 RemotePoint Jade RF Remote Presenter for PowerPoint:
I am using the remote with Microsoft Power point.
The great thing about VP9410 presenter is the ability to program the 4 buttons, for example we can program a button as ESC or (Shifit-F5) or Enter or TAB or F5 and others. The remote also has a very good wireless range and great laser pointer.
The bad things: the last Viewed slide is not available in this remote either as an original button or can be programmed. It is pain in the neck. Actually I bought it because I thought I could program one of the 4 programmable buttons as last viewed slide.
The mouse in the remote is useless because when I point the mouse pointer to a link in power point and press the enter button in the remote it takes me to the next page, not to the linked page.
Also there is no bag to keep the pointer and it's receiver in.

I'm very happy with this purchase. I quickly learned the buttons for laser pointer and advancing slides. I'm often presenting next door to another presenter and sometime we get our clicker signals crossed so that suddenly your slides change randomly as the other person clicks -- very annoying. So my main deciding factor with this clicker was the feature for adjusting to different channels if you have a conflicting signal. I just used this for the first time and did not have any channel-conflict issues, though that could have just been luck so I'm not entirely sure if it worked. Following the advice of other reviewers, I removed the battery when not in use to avoid running it down. The mouse function is cool but I doubt I'll ever actually use it. I wish it had volume control and a case, but like I said the channel-conflict issue was the killer feature for me.
