Comments about Mamiya ZD Digital System:
I have currently only been able to use the ZD in a studio situation. For me at least, it has definitely been a little quirky. VERY difficult to use in low light. Autofocus will not work, and while this is my first foray into medium format, I would not have expected to have to manually focus in almost all low key lighting situations. I have not had a comparable problem with any of my dslr's. Mamiya's tech support has been helpful as I have been figuring out some other issues.
The 80mm kit lens is mediocre, and unfortunately I have not had the right opportunity to use the 35mm lens I bought as well.
That being said, the digital images are spectacular. Great detailing (if you like examining pores, this camera is for you). It is fairly intuitive to use. The Mamiya RAW image converter works fairly well, but i have been trying to get ahold of Adobe regarding their RAW conversion on Mamiya files. They are green.... too green to use for processing Mamiya RAW in Photoshop. They do look great in Mamiya's software. Their JPEG's are fine to process in CS3, but I will update when I hear from Adobe about this issue.
