Comments about Yamaha N12 Twelve-Channel Digital Mixing Studio:

I've owned this product for about a year and a half. The mixer and feature set are great but there is an incredibly frustrating ongoing glitch with the firewire interface that Yamaha haven't done anything about.

It has an intermittent fault where it cuts out for a second if you're using a firewire card that isn't Texas Instruments, but even with Texas Instruments it still does it in Windows 7 - 64 bit. Because you monitor using analog you can do a few hours worth of recording before you realize that throughout everything you have done, there are gaps in the audio every 30 seconds or so.

I've waited over a year for a driver or windows update to address this, I can not tell you how many recording sessions have been ruined when I've forgotten to keep an eye on the waveform to make sure it hasn't started doing it (and reset it). It's something which we've gotten used to (and the resetting ritual that reduces the chances of it occurring) but if I could do it all again I would never purchase this.

Comments about Yamaha N12 Twelve-Channel Digital Mixing Studio:

I have been looking for a mixer/surface controller that will be totally hardwired to my DAW. This solved it and I must say I can't find any flaw. Looks cool too on the studio rack.
    Also works with protools 9.
U can't go wrong with it
