Stroboframe Shoe - Like the bracket Shoe Mount (300-SHO), but without a bracket-locating pin. This Universal Shoe Mount is for general purpose photo applications. It mounts to light stands or flat surfaces, can be used to upgrade non-Stroboframe flash brackets or mounted on the flash arm of many Stroboframe brackets to provide a convenient way of attaching shoe-mount accessories such as remote flash triggers.

Based on other's recommendations I picked up one Stroboframe 300-405 Accessory Shoe from a local retailer. After an hour or so of playing with it, I gotta tell ya...I am scrapping all of my other shoes for this. A really great design. The Stroboframe method of holding the shoe is very much like an Arca-Swiss tripod plate, it binds the shoe along both sides for the entire length of the shoe, with a wedge capture design. In fact, if the device shoe's edges were an inverse wedge, it would be exactly like an Arca-Swiss plate. It is this design that prevents the thumbscrew from loosening, as there is no movement or vibration possible in such a design, once tightened. Also the side of the mount that moves with the thumbscrew is spring-mounted to track the thumbscrew position as you tighten or loosen the shoe mount. The thumbscrew is large and comfortable enough to torque it down tightly, and there is no movement whatsoever, no wobble, no nothing. It comes supplied with a 1/4-20 mounting thumbscrew that is 0.5" long and runs up through the whole body of the shoe. I mounted this to one side of one of my dual SB 800 + Pocket Wizard brackets, tightened it down, and moved around rather roughly with this unit on a monopod, as my assistant would at an event. The other side had one of my rigs with the single side setscrew and the Nikon locking pin hole I drilled in the ABS. After about 10 minutes, the wobble from my other shoe became evident, and required tightening. The Stroboframe shoe did not move, and actually required some effort to take off the rig after 30 minutes of fairly violent movement.I am buying these for all of my supports, they are awesome. [...] They also work fine with the new SB-900.

I bought the shoe to use on my Stroboframe Flip Flash.
Well-made, but the mounting screw will not work with the Stroboframe flip-flash 35. The wings are too large, and there is no anti-twist arrangement on the shoe.
Presently, I am using velcro on my bracket and sc-17 cord, mounted with a 1/2 inch 1/4-20 machine screw. I suppose the velcro would do by itself, but I tend to overdo stuff. But, my flash mounting does not twist...ever! Unfortunately, the Stroboframe shoe does not provide the hoped-for improvement.

Sturdy, easy to use, and does its job well.I use this on top of my Swivel Umbrella Adapter (Lite-Tite) which is on a Manfrotto light stand. Easy to assemble. I have a couple of Canon flashes: the 430EX II and 580EX II which of course fit beautifully on this shoe. Great set-up for portrait work!

I got a pair of these to connect my Canon 430EX and 580EX II Speedlites to Manfrotto light stands via Manfrotto 026 Swivel Lite-Tite Umbrella Adapters. I had been using the just the foot-plates that came with the flashes but they are not durable and after having to get one replaced I decided it was much safer to have my expensive flashes more firmly attached to the stands. For their low price I thought these would be cheap insurance. I wish I had known to buy them when I got the stands.

All metal construction does what it's supposed to do. Add one of these onto one of the large Joby Tripods and you can mount your flash almost anywhere

The Stroboframe adjustable cold shoe is constructed of aluminum with a black powder coated finish. This cold shoe has an adjustable flange allowing it to hold a speedlight firmly in place by tightening a thumbscrew. I have two of these cold shoes and I am completely satisfied with their quality construction and functionality.
