Our kit includes (2) Canon 580EX II Speedlite E-TTL-II Flash Units which each boast a Guide Number of 190' (58 m) at 105mm, and (1) Canon ST-E2 Transmitter Kit. The transmitter can control up to two Speedlite 580EX slave groups in one of four channels (for a total of eight flashes). The flash ratio between the two groups can also be controlled.

This is a great kit especially for aspiring "strobists" [@] I have used this kit to shoot a number of portraits some architecture and weddings. Overall it is a good value I use it in combination with the 430EX. The one down side to this kit is that the IR transmitter has a minimal range and takes a funky 6v battery [$]

I'm a profesional photographer, i work a lot with people, schools and other enterprises. I think it's an awesome kit, the 580ex II are great lights and works very good with the ST-E2 transmitter. Evetything is automatic, so when you don't have the time and cant set up things, this is just point and shoot (like weddings, working with kids, etc). You can ofcourse do it manually too, and you can achieve excelent results. I'm very happy with this kit, and it's cheaper than buying them separatly.
