Comments about Cullmann Alpha 2500 Tripod with 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head:

I bought the tripod for use with a Sony HDR-FX1000 camera. Seeing as how I just spent all of my money on a camera, I needed a cheap tripod. And the old saying is correct. "You get what you pay for." Now it is not a bad tripod if you are doing stationary work. It holds up nicely. But when you attempt any movement with this guy while you're recording, the movement isn't very fluid and it doesn't necessarily stay exactly where you lock it down. Granted, I'm very picky and a bit OCD when it comes to my shots, so not everyone may have the same problem.

Great for recreational use. Solid, inexpensive tripod. But if you are planning to do any sort of serious filming, spend the extra money and get a nicer one.

Comments about Cullmann Alpha 2500 Tripod with 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head:

I had hoped to use this tripod with a nature-type self triggering camera. No such luck. The tripod is too flimsy to use with anything heavier than a pound or two, especially outdoors. To boot the head wobbles, despite tightening. I still have use for it inside (my son has my heavy duty tripod) but for outside I'll be using my Manfrotto monopod for pictures and lash the self triggering camera to a tree or a fence post.
