We needed a simple, affordable way to amplify my husband's voice. He teaches a small group where most who attend are hearing impaired. He also hates dealing with microphones, and likes to move around while speaking. The Amplivox Pro BeltBlaster has been the perfect, affordable soultion for everyone's needs. The only reason I gave it four stars is because the headset is ill-fitting and flimsy. We can't use it. The lapel mike works great[...] We're glad we spent a little extra for the "Pro" model and got the neoprene cover and rechargable batteries. Note: it does require a 24 hour charge before it is fully functional, as per instructions.

I use this thing for public speaking, and there's just far too much feedback on it. If I use the lapel microphone it screeches like crazy

We like it for our Education Programs, especially the programs we do off-site. Small and portable and yet projects well. Easy to use and also safe for us to use when handling program animals. We tuck the cord under our shirt so that no claws or tails can get tangled.

I used this for a tour in a noisy manufacturing plant with a group of 8 people. Everyone could hear me and it saved my voice.
Two things will help you get the most out of it. Don't bother with the lapel mic - use the headset mic. Also, postion the mic close to your mouth and make sure it is pointed toward your mouth; if it is angled down, you will get feedback. The foam wind screen makes it difficult to see which way the mic is pointed - you may want to mark the end of the mic so you can more easily make sure it it positioned correctly.

It works great other than I wish it was just a little bit louder. The clips could be a little more heavy duty as one of them broke a few weeks of using it. It was easy to replace with another one from a fabric store to fix the problem.

This product made a great gift, but as an owner of better microphone products than this I was a little hard on it for it's performance. It works fine, as advertised, but the volume output is not great and sounds muffled at it's max. If you're a loud talker you will probably achieve the same results.

I am losing my voice - literally - and permanently. I have been looking for a way to amplify what voice I have left without looking like Beyonce giving a concert (without the hair and the figure). This Pro Belt Blaster works easily and effectively. It is a little heavy to wear around the waist ( about 3 pounds) but I put it on the table when playing bridge with friends, or dining out. I leave it on my desk at work and inside the house I hang it on over my shoulder to walk around.

The negatives - it does have a very loud feedback whistle when I lean over the amp w/ the headphone on. The Blaster is my tool for communicating now..

12-21-11 -- I purchased this item for a hands-free amplifier to address a group of 30 people, and to be able to pass it around to other speakers. I am impressed by the ingenious design and ease of use. As yet I have only tried it once and although it worked quite well, I need more practice in positioning the lapel mic. The headset mic would probably work better but I prefer the lavalier.

I am a middle school teacher working with "gifted" students. My classes and field trips are active and fast-moving. My students are often absorbed in group activities when I need to give information or instructions. The Pro Beltblaster saves me from yelling or straining to be heard. I use it for just that degree of amplification needed to focus the students on what I am saying. This not only saves my voice, but it saves time in transitioning from one part of the lesson to another.

I have not tried it for serious singing or recording, but it is an excellent tool for active teaching.

I purchased this to use for auctioning furniture and appliances inside of houses. This item is powerful enough to provide plenty of amplification inside when moving from room to room with out having to carry a larger PA. It is lightweight, portable, rechargeable, and easy to use. I intend to try it outside on equipment rows to see if it has sufficient volume for outside use, but I bought it for inside use primarily. It is susceptible to feedback.

We needed a couple of PA Systems for a big trade show we were doing. There are many choices and it became a little overwhelming. I called & spoke with someone on the phone who introduced me to this product. I was a bit skeptical that it would work as it was so much less expensive than the other options. I'm happy to say that they worked just fine. If you're making presentations to a crowd at a noisy environment, they are a good choice for a fraction of the cost of other products.

Comments about AmpliVox Sound Systems Pro BeltBlaster - Portable Waist-Worn PA System:
