Using this flash with a T2i. Everything works right out of the box, just turn on the flash and start shooting. It's fully auto, which is great if you don't know too much or don't want to worry about manual flash settings. It swivels and has a zoom control that focuses the light further away. Definitely a step up from the factory flash on the camera. But... you have ABSOLUTELY no manual control over the flash. It has an on/off switch, and that's it. If you are getting too bright of a flash, you can swivel it away or put some diffusion over it, but otherwise you are stuck with the decision the flash makes.

Personally I think it's a pretty good deal... for a basic swivel flash with no controls. Just be aware of the limitations.

I wanted a flash primarily for indoor, impromtu family photos. I take most of my serious photos in natural or controlled lighting. So I did not expect professional results. However, if you are very diligent it is a better flash than that which comes with the canon xsi. It goes through batteries quickly. You must be careful with the on switch as it always seems to turn itself on in my bag so I have had to resort to removing the batteries. Also in a few of my pictures I can see flash vignetting. There is also about a 15 second delay in between flash pics.

Comments about Bower SFD728 Autofocus TTL Flash for Canon:

The flash is working fine for my needs as an amateur photographer. It's light weight and easy to use, priorities for me. Works well to avoid blinking animal pics which was what I bought it for.

Comments about Bower SFD728 Autofocus TTL Flash for Canon:

I used this product with the 5D mk II. I used it as a low light candid portrait tool for events such as wedding receptions. It is versital for the price and gives decent light. However it is worth it to invest in something more reliable. The recycle time is pretty slow also mine has stopped working entirely after a year and a half of VERY VERY light use. This flash has less than 1,000 flashes on it before it stopped working. I now have a wedding coming up and am scrambling to get another flash before the date. If you're a casual photographer go for it, but if you have any inclination towards making money with your services and art save up a little more and spend $[$] on something which will last.

I use the flash to primarily shoot portrait photography indoors and outdoors with my Canon T2i. Its a decent flash but I wouldn't recommend using it on a job because it is not a reliable flash unit. I've experienced several situations where the unit did not fire. I had to remove it from the camera and re-install it before it would work again. I had to breakdown and get the Canon 580EX II which is the best Canon Flash ive personally ever had

I am just trying to get started in the photography business and was looking for a decent external flash for my Canon Rebel T2i. After a week of searching, pricing and reading reviews this was the best fit in my budget. I have had no issues with this flash. I don't find it to be bulky considering it is an external flash. I love that I can rotate the flash in pretty much any direction. For the price and what it does it's a great buy for a beginner like myself!

This was my first purchase of a dedicated flash.

For the price, it's fantastic. It's reliable, it recycles (relatively) quickly, you can angle it to bounce the flash off of things (which is fantastic)... the only complaint I have is that the swivel head is a little loose, so sometimes it will get turned without me realizing it and suddenly instead of flashing my subject I'm flashing whoever's unfortunately to my right or left. For the price, however, I am extremely pleased.

Comments about Bower SFD728 Autofocus TTL Flash for Canon:

Comments about Bower SFD728 Autofocus TTL Flash for Canon:

I needed a flash that I could use to improve the power of the onboard flash and this one delivered. The first one I received was DOA, but it was replaced free of charge. Once I got one that worked, it worked great. I also got a box diffuser for it (elsewhere) which really softens the light and makes for some spectacular photos.

The recharging time is fine, as long as you're not expecting professional speeds. You're not going to be able to use the continuous setting on your camera and continue to have flash on each one, but if you give it 3 - 5 seconds between shots, it'll be ready to go.

Also, the fact that, at this price point, it has tilt and swivel is great.

All in all a great flash for the money.

Comments about Bower SFD728 Autofocus TTL Flash for Canon:

I just received a new Canon Rebel T3 for Christmas and wanted an inexpensive flash with more power than the on-canmera unit. This has worked very well. It is more than powerful enough for my needs - GN 92. It doesn't have all the tricks of a Canon unit, but for now it is perfect. It does have bounce and swivel capabilities. If you have a new DSLR and want an inexpensive flash to take routine photos - you won't be disappointed.

I GENERALLY USE MY CAMERA FOR RECREATION AND FOR THE MONEY I THINK IS A GOOD LITTLE FLASH. IT`S LIGHT AND PRETTY VERSATILE. ONLY DOWNSIDE IS THAT IT IS A LITTLE SLOW TO RECYCLE.
