I was in the market for a monopod and a sturdy tripod. While reviewing all of the choices available at B&H, I decided to try the Ultra 757TM All In One, and couldn't be happier with it's performance. Even in the high wind conditions I encounter at the shore, I find it steady (unlike the lighter tripods I have been using). The monopod feature is easily accessable and very functional. This product is a must for those who are looking for good quality photos without camera shake.

Out of the box experience? Cheap plastic! The 'fluid head' feels lke nothing but plastic against plastic. 11 lbs? Not unless you lock the head tight or hold it from sagging between pans. The monopod is worthless for still cameras - the pan handle sticks you in the neck. The quick release head - plastic junk. Could not get a stroboframe QRC to stay tight. Oh yeah, the head does not stay in level on 360 pan. The monopod legs must be twisted to lock/unlock - no clamps. Other than that...

Comments about Sunpak Ultra 757TM Tripod/Monopod with 3-Way Head:

I love that this tripod has a built-in monopod. I strongly dislike that the tripod head and mounting plate are plastic. I use this tripod/monopod with a Canon 5D Mark II and a Canon 100-400 zoom IS lens (that's about 5 lbs itself) and the camera body and lens together feel relatively stable when in a fixed position. I just don't fully trust how cheap the plastic is. It's very difficult to get the mounting plate on the head one-handed. The lever that locks the mounting plate on is a plastic/metal combo (I had to tighten the screw after pulling it out of the box because the lever seemed like it was about to fall off) and is impossible to get to stay open and put the camera on at the same time because the mounting plate doesn't fit easily onto the head. Walking around with the monopod and camera/lens there were a few times I needed to straighten out the camera because the mounting plate screw doesn't hold very well. BE CAREFUL.Lastly, the monopod is a great feature I've used more than the tripod itself but the way the legs extend is dangerous. The rings you twist that you normally think are in sections are actually connected to that section you're twisting. I've pinched my finger terribly (now going on 3 weeks of recovery) because this is so unlike what I'm used to. But, you kind of have to expect to compromise for the price.

Very durable tripod! I'm a teacher and this tripod gets used by a room full of high school students & it keeps "going". We've bought some cheaper one's and they always break.

        Good things about it
        * Very strong and sturdy.
        * I take pictures in lot of low-light conditions. find this tripod best with it since it doesnt move or shake.
        * it also converts into monopod.

        Not-so good things about it

        * Its very heavy.
        * since it converts to monopod, its good.

Comments about Sunpak Ultra 757TM Tripod/Monopod with 3-Way Head:

I am a beginning photographer, just started playing around. I bought this tripod after reading good reviews. I am very happy with it. It's very sturdy, easy to use, has 2 leveling meters. My only problem so far is that it is too heavy to carry around easily. I guess I need to buy a bag for it to make it more handy. Anyway, I definitely recommend this product and I know it will serve me well for years.

Comments about Sunpak Ultra 757TM Tripod/Monopod with 3-Way Head:

It's just so tall. I'll never have to worry about shooting something from up high again. YES!

It's very easy to move around, very sturdy. I like the feel of the tripod head. I can't wait to put it to good use. My only beef is that it's so much bigger than my other, that i'll now have to find a way to transport it when i'm walking the streets of NYC for my documentary.

Comments about Sunpak Ultra 757TM Tripod/Monopod with 3-Way Head:

I've used this almost daily since I bought it. It's nice and sturdy, (my old one did not lock into place properly for vertical framing), the levels are excellent, and the quick release fluid effect head is excellent.

It's heavier than I anticipated, but certainly manageable. I went for a nice long hike with it right after I received it and had no problems.

Comments about Sunpak Ultra 757TM Tripod/Monopod with 3-Way Head:

Just starting in photography, my previous tripod was not adequate. I decided to upgrade to this tripod. I'm very pleased with the stability of it, using it on a windy day, it stood strong. I especially like:
              - monopod hidden nicely in center strut
              - comes stock with (2) heads
              - fluid operation
              - spiked feet with the option to cover gives it a very versatile footing (no pun intended).

I would have appreciated a crank mechanism to raise the height, however, rather difficult to do with a monopod internally.

Also, I do wish the locks on the legs would have a more positive "snap" on them, as opposed to a clamping concept, however, this is more personal feel.

It's a great tripod for the price and contains a mountain of features.

Comments about Sunpak Ultra 757TM Tripod/Monopod with 3-Way Head:

This tripod has a really cool feature in that it includes a monopod as well, but it's not the highest quality which should be expected considering its price. The legs are a little wobbly and the levers that release the leg extensions don't work that smoothly. But, if you're going to set up a DSLR or a small DV camera on it, it's more than capable. It's also pretty light and is definitely suited to travel if you want to have the versatility of a tripod and monopod combined in one.

I especially like that there is a monopod - it's a nice easy way to get more stability when you're shooting without using the more bulky tripod. I highly recommend this product.

For the money spent this is an adequate tripod/head. The height is better than most in category. The leg locks leave a bit to be desired. A more secure click into place would mean another star.

Comments about Sunpak Ultra 757TM Tripod/Monopod with 3-Way Head:

I've had this for about 3 years and use it heavily for my FF DSLR. The head is ok but not great--replaced it immediately with a $50 Bogen head. It is sturdy and reliable. What I like most about it is the flip-lock legs (I HATE twist lock). As a pro for over 35 years, I have owned and used many tripods including top brands. This thing works almost as well as my brother's $700 carbon fiber tripod, and is about the same weight. His extends a few inches higher, but has twist-lock legs.

Comments about Sunpak Ultra 757TM Tripod/Monopod with 3-Way Head:

I was looking for solid tripod that could handle both my camera and heavy lenses. The Ultra 757TM fits the bill. The head is strong and stable. The leg adjustments give me the height I need. The mono-pod piece is a bonus, as I like a mono-pod for many applications, but lacked one with a 3-way head. This unit fits the bill.

Comments about Sunpak Ultra 757TM Tripod/Monopod with 3-Way Head:

I already owned a nearly identical SunPac tripod sold at a major electronics store that is [...]The part number is also almost identical. The head is not suitable for video and I knew that going in. I removed the non-removable head (very easy, it as a 1/4-20 thread) and put an adapter on that I machined (1/4-20 on one end and 3/8-16 on the other about 2 inches in length and 2.5 inches in dia.) then I put my Manfrotto fluid head on. Works like a champ. This tripod is very stable. The monopod is also very nice. I would have used this tripod as manufactured if it had a good fluid head.I do event videography and use Sony HDR-SR11 camcorders on this tripod. I also have an HDR-FX1 that I have used on this tripod. The FX1 is a bit large for it though. I fully intended to remove the head as soon as I got it. This tripod has fully lived up to my expectations. I gave it 4 starts because the head is not a true fluid head.

Comments about Sunpak Ultra 757TM Tripod/Monopod with 3-Way Head:

I have been using this tripod for a couple of weeks and have enjoyed it so far.
It has worked well on uneven ground, at parks and I really enjoy the monopod feature for moving scenes.

If you are just starting out and on a tight budget when it comes to needing so many pieces of equipment like me, then I very much recommend this tripod.
