The MS-D10 is a extremely well made piece of kit that fits seamlessly with the D300. It makes handling the camera easier in terms of ergonomics but it does add considerable weight and bulk. The controls are adequate but do have a bit of a different feel than the same controls on the camera. I would certainly recommend purchasing this item if your main interest is a faster frame speed and longer battery life (and the ability to use AA batteries).

Recently, I've been having a problem with my MB-D10 and D700(s). I have tried it with both of my D700s and the problem started at the same time so I'm sure it is the battery grip. The camera(s) won't or can't pick-up the charge from the battery grip only when the shutter button is pressed. I put a fresh set of batteries in the MB-D10 and notta. I have the camera set to use the battery grip first and then the camera battery second (EN-El3e). The camera does acknowledge the battery grip because when I check the battery levels in the camera menu "Battery info" it shows both as well as the levels. When I remove in camera EN-El3e the battery grip turns everything on but I can't get it to flip the shutter and the battery indicator says it is out of power even with a fresh set.
I have cleaned the contacts and even ordered this new MS-D10 insert and this did not help the problem. Another disappointment from Nikon.

Comments about Nikon MS-D10 "AA" Battery Holder for the MB-D10 Multi-Power Battery Pack:
I purchased the battery pack for the increased shutter speed on my D700. The fit is excellent and it works perfectly. You just can't beat original equipment and at this price why would anyone buy a knock off? Very satisfied customer.

Comments about Nikon MS-D10 "AA" Battery Holder for the MB-D10 Multi-Power Battery Pack:
I had previously purchased the battery grip from a local camera shop used and this holder was missing. I purchased this to be able to get up to the 8 fps on my D700 and I'm so glad I did.

Comments about Nikon MS-D10 "AA" Battery Holder for the MB-D10 Multi-Power Battery Pack:
I use the Nikon battery pack mostly for the additional shutter speed, but really like the way it feels too.
I've purchased two other off-brand battery packs, and both were poor quality where it mattered. They both broke at the camera mount. After trying to get by cheaply, I finally broke down and got a Nikon pack for my Nikon. The Nikon battery pack also fits tighter against the camera than the others.
I have no complaints about this item.

Comments about Nikon MS-D10 "AA" Battery Holder for the MB-D10 Multi-Power Battery Pack:
I got one of these with the MD-10 Battery Grip but I was tired of fumbling with replacing the batteries in it when I was out hiking. I have two sets of high power Ni-MH batteries and this is definitely the way to go, just pop & swap and I'm back to shooting. I certainly recommend having a second battery holder, much easier to deal with on the fly.

Comments about Nikon MS-D10 "AA" Battery Holder for the MB-D10 Multi-Power Battery Pack:
My original decided to stop working and shorting out to the point where the batteries were overheating. I was concerned that the grip was the issue. I sent the grip bck to Nikon and after oaying them [$], all I needed was a new tray.

Comments about Nikon MS-D10 "AA" Battery Holder for the MB-D10 Multi-Power Battery Pack:
This was my fourth MS-D10. I use: Eight MAHA POWEREX "AA" 2700mAh batteries in my MS-D10 (9.6v 2700mAh) to obtain nearly the same power rating as Nikon's EN-EL4a Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery (11.1v 2500mAh), at greatly reduced cost. On my D700 + MB-D10 + MS-D10, I obtain between 1000 and 1350 shoots per battery load. It is slightly higher on my D300 + MB-D10 + MS-D10. Making for a good savings for a starving Wedding photographer. Every little bit helps...

I use this as a backup and keep Imedian AA NIMH batteries which have a slow discharge in them. In the unlikely chance that I need to change batteries during an event I don't want to be messing around for long and this does the trick. A little spendy for the plastic that is but it does the job.
