The Photogenic RTR Radio Receiver enables firing of a StudioMax III or any other strobe monolight or power pack, without running a sync cord between the camera and your flash unit.

This four-channel system is designed for use with both portable off-camera flashes and studio strobes. It provides reliable radio technology to trigger strobes up to a distance of 150' (50 m) without sync cords or unreliable optical slaves.

This product works great. The only drawback is not having an on/off switch drains the batteries and it is a pain to remove the batteries from the transmitter.

Comments about Photogenic RTR Radio Receiver:

Since I have built-in radio receivers on 2 of my StudioMax, I decided to get another 2 of these receivers for my PowerLight 1250s thereby keeping one transmitter for all 4 lights/receivers.

Based on my experience having used them for nearly 3 months, they'd fire about 80%-90% of the time. It's a bit bothersome considering they're just 3-4 yards away from the transmitter. It's always good to check your monitor first before proceeding with your next shot.

If you're looking for a 99.9% firing rate, nothing beats PocketWizards or Elinchrome Skyports.
