The Minox MD 50 W 50mm Spotting Scope Kit is a travel-friendly, compact, yet high quality spotting scope. Minox employs a certain set of company values - compact design, quality and precision mechanics are consistently applied in every product.

The MD50 W is particularly ideal for the bird watcher who prefers a spotting scope that is compact enough to carry along in luggage or a backpack when travelling. In this case, this spotting scope can, under certain conditions, be an excellent supplement to binoculars, in particular if a stronger magnification than available binoculars is required. With the 16x magnification of the variable eyepiece the compact MD 50 W can at times be hand-held, although for optimum use a tripod is always recommended.

A sturdy yet lightweight body protects the precision mechanics and optics against damage in normal use. Rubber armoring ensures a good grip, and provides added protection as it is also dustproof and waterproof to a depth of 16'/5 m.

The angled design of the scope provides a more relaxed stance during viewing, and with a swivel tripod connection the telescope can be pivoted when on a tripod.
Minox multi-layer M* coating results in high light transmission as well as brilliance, high contrast, and natural color rendition.
Close-focus capability of 16.4'/5m.
Nitrogen filling prevents misting up of the optical system on the inside, even under extreme temperature fluctuations.

Comments about Minox MD 50 W 2"/50mm Spotting Scope:

This scope was bought to carry at times when I didn't want to carry my big 95mm spotting scope.

I was very pleased with my first view through it. The images are brighter and sharper than I had imagined they would be. It's a nice compact package.

Comments about Minox MD 50 W 2"/50mm Spotting Scope:

Great compact scope overall. I was torn between this and its brother the MD50 (straight thru)as the near focus distance for the MD50W is 30feet while the MD50 is 16 feet, but chose the "W" for the angled eyepiece.
WE (me and the Mrs) use it for birding and digiscoping mostly at lower powers.
Super compact, light weight great optics mean we will use it more than larger heavier scopes. Travels wells.

Comments about Minox MD 50 W 2"/50mm Spotting Scope:

I bought this scope to replace my old 20-60x60 spotting scope kept in my Archery case, the old scope took up too much room. The Minox 50 is so small and light, it fits perfect. I was suprised at the clarity of image, much better than what i am used to, its the perfect archery scope for me.

Comments about Minox MD 50 W 2"/50mm Spotting Scope:

Whilst I haven't had this product for long, it would seem that it is going to be an excellent purchase. The disadvantage of having a fixed position for the eye piece is outweighed by the advantage of the small size of the scope. When used with a tripod with a swivel top this disadvantage is overcome.

Comments about Minox MD 50 W 2"/50mm Spotting Scope:

Have only been hunting once since buying this spotting scope.Saw what I thought was a small mob of pigs about 6-7oo yards away.My 9x rifle scope made them out to be black dots still thinking they were pigs I got the spotting scope out and soon saw that it was a small group of Turkeys.Saved a lot of walking and stalking. The scope is small enough to carry in my day pack and no need for a tri-pod as a tree or fence post will do to steady against.Good optics the turkeys were displayed in all their colours and easy to make out. A good tool to have.

Comments about Minox MD 50 W 2"/50mm Spotting Scope:

Bought the MD-50 as an alternative to taking a full sized spotting scope for hunting. It takes up a lot less room in the pack, but the best feature is the weight savings. It is also very sharp for it's small size. Overall a great product.
