The Bushnell Scout 1000 rangefinder is a small, accurate instrument for measuring distances at the golf course, in the woods, or at a firing range.
The unit has comfortable eye relief and 5x magnification, with some intelligent modes so that you can selectively measure exactly for the distance of the object you seek, and not what is in front of or behind it.
This Scout 1000 rangefinder has angle range compensation capacity, with a built-in inclinometer that displays the rangefinder's angle -60 to +60 from level, and is accurate within one degree. This information, in this model, is integrated into 'bow' and 'rifle' measuring modes-which further tailor the expressed readings to help a bowhunter or rifleman hit their target.

- Bow mode uses measuring angle and actual distance to yield a "shoot as" range
- Rifle mode integrates measuring angle & 8 ballistic groups to yield a "shoot as" distance and holdover specification
- BullsEye mode ignores higher-reflectivity background objects and displays distance to closest object
- Brush mode ignores higher-reflectivity foreground objects and displays distance to further object
- Scan mode continuously updates distances of each object in crosshairs

Just received my Scout 1000. Already verified that the 200 yd range at my local gun club is really only 192, and verified that with another brand of range finder. The flags at my local driving range are surprisingly accurate. Case and skin provide good protection. Crystal clear optics and simple operating instructions make the Scout 1000 ARC a delight to use.

I waited to buy a rangefinder until the product category matured and prices came down, and it was well worth the wait. Easy to use, accurate, and very versatile! The only minor regret is that I found out that I really didn't need the ARC feature, which cost me $100 considering the standard model was $50 cheaper and had a $50 rebate. The ARC feature only confirmed that my prior "guesstimates" for angle adjustments were pretty accurate, at least for my Midwestern relatively flat topo hunting - if I were hunting in rugged terrain the extra feature would be well worth the extra money. All in all I am very happy with the product.
